Nu Who Meta: River Song as "the perfect companion"
In the Russell T. Davies era, there was a discussion at one point of a plot showing the Doctor 'manipulating' his perfect companion into existence. Is River fulfilling that plot given that Amy's pregnancy was influenced on the TARDIS, she was manipulated by enemies of the Doctor for harming him, and she ultimately sacrificed herself for him? Whether directly or indirectly by the Doctor, do you feel she was created to become his perfect companion?
