If you are someone who believes in personal free speech and the right to worship as you desire then it isn't possible to put some sort of litmus test on your political party. So you can't tell someone that they have to shut up about birth certificates because you aren't the boss of them.

I've observed that a whole lot of people having a calm discussion about the role of the Fed and the merits of a debt ceiling do not get the same amount of media coverage as one lunatic calling someone a "niggar". Because there is no way to control the message all you can do is just be clear about your OWN message.
