Mod Post: Dreamwidth comms

OK,  we're kind of back in business here on LJ!

Before I get Sharing Sunday posted, your mod team would like to ask how everyone feels about our back-up presence on Dreamwidth.

Posting in the DW version of doctoreleven seems to have worked well, and seems to have been quite welcome, as that site is still a little sparse on population and fandom

The real question may be just how much traffic the DW comm will get while the main LJ comm is active, but I think the crossposting and/or weekly updates would be worth trying out at least for awhile. I do like the idea of bringing more Doctor Who activity over to DW.

I like the vibe here. My concern w/ crossposting is that it only goes 1 way - from DW to LJ, so anyone who's not on DW wouldn't be able to do it.

This is my worry as well. I'm also concerned that any comments will be split between the two comms, so each will only get half the squee.

I'd like to see both comms active. DW is my backup journal. It'd be my primary one except for a real lack of fandom presence over there. Having this comm there as well would be awesome.

Definitely cross-post. LJ isn't out of the woods yet and I'm getting to like DW. Their site maintainers may be able to assist if the community can't auto- cross post. They seem to be more helpful than the LJ staff.

I would like to definitely keep both communities, but not to crosspost (at least not as a rule--if someone *wants* to, they can). I'd rather the DW community have a chance to grow into an independent place, only acting as backup for here in times of LJ-lessness. I mean, there's no point in having two communities if the posts are going to be exactly the same. And there are people on DW only who I'm sure want as much of a chance to squee over our current team TARDIS as we do. :-)
