Mod Post: Dreamwidth comms

OK,  we're kind of back in business here on LJ!

Before I get Sharing Sunday posted, your mod team would like to ask how everyone feels about our back-up presence on Dreamwidth.

Posting in the DW version of doctoreleven seems to have worked well, and seems to have been quite welcome, as that site is still a little sparse on population and fandom ( Read more... )

I'm another vote for cross-posting. *nod*

It's worth noting that Dreamwidth supports Open-ID. You can log into DW using your LiveJournal URL (username.livejournal.com) and join the comm using that account. The only problem is you cannot make new posts to the comm, but you can reply on current entries.

I have no plans to get a DW account but if LJ does go down again I will use my Open ID to check on the doctoreleven comm over there :)

I only check Dreamwidth when LJ is down, so I wouldn't personally need crossposting. If there is crossposting, though, I hope the good stuff gets shared between comms, as I'd hate the idea of people missing the fun because they're only committed to one platform or the other!

I would cast a vote for crossposting, especially as DW makes it so easy. It doesn't affect anyone who doesn't have a DW, as everything is all still there at LJ, but would be great for those who don't use LJ any more, or for the times when LJ goes down straight after a great post.

That sentence may have not made any sense (I've not been up long and still on my first cuppa), sorry. Oh, meant to add, yes to the other Eleven Empire b/u comms too!

Crossposting would be best, I think. I like the weekly round-up idea. Honestly, I prefer LJ to DW, and only visit DW to keep up with people who only post there and if LJ is inaccessible (so I don't anticipate my using the DW comm unless LJ goes down again).
