Mod Post: Dreamwidth comms

OK,  we're kind of back in business here on LJ!

Before I get Sharing Sunday posted, your mod team would like to ask how everyone feels about our back-up presence on Dreamwidth.

Posting in the DW version of doctoreleven seems to have worked well, and seems to have been quite welcome, as that site is still a little sparse on population and fandom ( Read more... )

When you say

"Would you like us to continue to keep that community open for posting, even though LJ is back?"

Do you mean instead of LJ or as well as?

I'd say keep it up, just in case, but I do not use DW :/

It would be nice to keep the back-up comm running, but I primarily read on LJ and I would hate to miss something cool because it was only on DW. There's not a way to cross-post in both directions automatically?

I don't know if it works with communities but I know that with personal journals, you can have your DW entry posted automatically to your LJ.

But I don't think it works the other way around and since most of us use LJ primarily, I think the bigger risk here is for users who are predominantly on DW.

But you can definitely import to DW from LJ. You can even export your entire journal if you like. Maybe the best way to do it would be to have the DW posts cross-posted and then just export the LJ entries to DW once a day or week or something?
