In these long months between series halves, we thought it might be nice to return to our weekly look at eras past. Hopefuly, in the coming weeks, we'll have some people hosing themed posts about a specific aspect of Doctor Who history, but we'll kick off today, with a general post, where people can bond over Doctors, characters, stories, writers,

Which makes it all the more tragic that Sarah Jane won't be back, because I would have loved to have seen Lis and Lalla meet up as Sarah Jane and Romana.

Five: Castrovalva. Mathy story. Rather rambling and silly in places but I still like it
Six: The Mysterious Planet. Because the plot is UTTER CRACK and kind of ridiculous but it's crazy and silly and fun, and like a lot of Six stories, more than the sum of its many strange parts.

Seriously, for those first four episodes, Four was showing Six how it was done, in terms of being a terrifying Doctor.
The end of episode two, with Tom Baker cackling like Doctor Evil, was the stuff of nightmares.

It is also my fanon that Ben and Polly Jackson were Alan Jackson's parents, and that Alan passed on their stories to his own daughter, Maria, about the sailor, the princess and the wizard with the disappearing cabinet.

My favorite Classic Doctor is Three. I've only seen Spearhead from Space and pieces of Terror of the Autons, and I desperately want to see more. Plus, Sarah Jane!
I have a strange fondness for the TV movie. Eight and Grace are wonderful. (No desire to listen to the audios, though.)
I haven't seen any Five or Six, though. I'd like to remedy that someday.

It doesn't tempt me, though. I don't have the money, and I'm not really interested in the plots. Plus, I only consider what happens on TV canon, so… Now, if Grace herself was back, that might be different. :)
BTW, I love your icon.
