I prefer the old, the bright blue just sticks out too much to me and I feel like it should blend into the surroundings more (well, as much a big blue box CAN) though, it may seem brighter than it actually is in the picture because they could have messed around with the coloring, who knows.
I hope this doesn't mean they are changing the inside of the TARDIS too D:
Yup, the reason the hub had to blow up in cOE was because they were knocking it down to expand the tardis (In real life the sets are next door to each other) to make it over HD style.
Personally, I'm with everyone else about it being too bright, but I thin that might be because they are now filming in HD and they think a brighter TARDIS will come off better in the HD? Maybe the washed out blue of the old is not reflecting well?
Aww, I'm going to miss the old TARDIS, not least because I see ones that look like that all over the place, just that colour, but I really doubt I'll see any as bright as the new one (unless someone decides to paint them!)
Well I'm definitely willing to put up with the new one. Personally I think it looks a little to "fresh out of the box" but I'm sure I'll get used to it.
Ooop! there it is! I wasn't certain that the colors had been tweaked in the earlier images I've seen, but that's it. Just a single Selective Color adjustment in Photoshop to the blue channel would do it. If those images went to be printed in a newspaper, that's what you'd do to get a good 'pop' of color.
Not sure about the white framing on the windows though, but it is a throwback to past episodes - heck, in the Tom Baker years, the exterior looked practically splintered..
