WOOT!

I had a shower this afternoon.  First full-on wash (including my hair) for three days...It Felt SO GOOD.  I love my work.  They let me shower and I filled up all my water containers there, so haven't had to worry about the bowsers running out...it's also taken a bit of pressure off the local ones, which is good.  I also managed to do some food ( Read more... )

Thank heaven you've got a place that you can use as a resource - fresh water, a good cleanup! Though it's awkward, at least you're not helpless. That's always the worst. Bleah!

*snuggles you and hands you fluffy hot-pink towels*

I quite agree. It's a bit of a pain, but that's all. Given the alternatives, well, it's a joy and a treasure!

Oooh, fluffy towels? Hot-pink fluffy towels? Huzzah!

we all worked in freezing cold temps by candlelight

Kind of like monks. You were supposed to enjoy the suffering!

Believe me, you were doing them the favor by showering! LOL You can smack me for that in October. Do you think the pics/vid of the house are still on the BBC news website?

Well, considering I'd been heard muttering that 'if I can't wash my hair soon I'm going to kill someone!' by a couple of people, they were probably just glad to avoid both bloodshed and potentially awkward questions from the authorities...*spanks HEL anyway...*

And yes, the vid might still be there.

Well, if you could make it stop raining, that would be nice...Oh, and the car seems to be playing up, so if you could sort that out too, I'd appreciate it!

Seriously sweetie, I appreciate the offer, but we're hanging on in there. You have enough on your plate at the moment, just promise me that, if I drown, you'll name your next child after me...

Clearly I sent you the right b'day present this year! It might have been even better, though, if I'd thrown in a bit of scuba gear so you could swim to work. Or maybe just an inflatable inner tube.

The whole situation is Coleridge's fault. Wasn't he the one who wrote "Water, water everywhere, and never a drop to drink"? Or words to that effect. I blame him.

The umbrella is about to get its own starring role on LJ, but I am grateful for it like you wouldn't believe! I've used it almost hourly in the last couple of days, I'm afraid to say.

I'll blame Coleridge too. Not for any particular reason, but because he and Wordsworth were in cahoots. And not even slashy, BDSM-millipede cahoots...
