Doctor Woes

Seriously thinking of switching the doctor who's managing my medical transition. Thanks to kind public support (thanks for passing the word, everyone!) and decent Etsy sales, I've made enough to pay for my testosterone refill, but my doctor has yet to call it in after three reminders and I'm already a week overdue for my shot. He's done this before

Couldn't Quirky Doc get all your bloodwork and stuff from Doctor Forgetful? Maybe it would be worth asking Doc Quirky how much it would cost to transfer. He might surprise you.

That's what I was thinking. If it's been reasonably recent enough, it shouldn't be a huge problem. You should at least see if you can talk to him about treating you. It may not even be the doctor that's pulling the shit, but the reception not passing on info.

Two thoughts...

1. Is that doctor the only one at the practice? If not, I'd ask to speak with the head nurse and explain what is going on. Especially the fact that it's past due. Request that since the doctor is out or unavailable/busy, can the other dr write the script. (This can typically be done within the same practice w/o seeing the other doctor.)

2. With the new possible doctor... request that all of your records and especially all of your lab work be moved to the new location. If you explain to that doctor the financial difficulties, and you have current bloodwork/lab work from another location, he should be willing to use those.
