the rule about the linking to threads on other posts is because it encourages them to comment there, rather than on the post itself. In this case it also encourages other people to jump into a discussion between two people that has already taken place. If I dont allow the shit disturbers to do it I cant allow you to. I could care less whether you agree with that or not, the explanation is simply to clarify the principle so you understand why it was done.

In any case the context was completely unnecessary to the point, so you've lost nothing whatsoever by bringing it into compliance.
