Hi Katie!

I'm sorry, I can't make it this time. This stupid simulation is giving me the same parameters regardless of how I tweak the variables... I'm gonna have to stay late or take it home and watch it. Sigh.

However, "Marge" said she'd be glad to attend. Someday I'm going to have to show up when she does just to see this...

Hugs
Rae

Rae honey, you work far too hard. I should know by now to make sure your schedule's cleared before organising anything! Don't stress over it too much, I know you'll figure it out.

And don't worry, I have a feeling 'Marge' is gonna be around for a while ;) Actually maybe I'll see if I can get hold of a camera. :D

Love
Katie

Quick note, babe. Marge called me home to pick an outfit, so I helped her with some lighter makeup. I said what the hell, I'll go too. See ya in a few minutes.

Rodney fretted over the sleeves of his blouse just outside Katie's door. Even after all this time, Katie still made him nervous. Then Rae rang the chime and they were walking in.

Looking more like his own (much younger) sister, Rodney smiled shyly at Katie and hesitantly said in heavily accented English, "Hello, Katie."

Katie smiled easily, she was more used to Marge this time around and Rase's note had given her extra preparation time. "Hey Rae, Marge, I'm so glad you could both make it. I know you're both incredibly busy." She said giving Rae a quick hug. "What the hell," she muttered before repeating the gesture with Marge.

Stepping back, she indicated to the table. "You're the first ones here. At least I hope the first and not the only. Come grab a drink and Marge can give me hairstyling tips whilst we wait."

Rodney was a little stiff for Katie's hug, but laughed at her teasing about hairstyling tips and finally relaxed.

Marge eyed the coffee longingly and at Rae's glare said defensively, {What?} In deference to their host, Marge switched to slightly broken English, since she was still relearning it. "Carson said Rodney could not have coffee. I am Marge." Another glare and Marge wilted. "Yes, Rachel."

Walking dejectedly over to the table, Marge staked out one of the choicest spots. "So. How you been, Katie?" Even Marge winced at how horrible her English was. "I apologize for my poor English. Still relearning."

Rae returned Katie's hug, smiling. Rodney Marge looked like she was going to head for the coffee. Rae glared. She offered the most pitiful excuse. Personalities aside, the body was still Rodney. Not. Gonna. Happen. Marge went to sit down, and Rae headed for the drinks.

"Thanks, Katie, that sounds good."

There was some kind of fruit drinks, some cocktail mixes, beer, coffee, and water. Rae frowned when she noticed orange juice with the mixers. She'd have to make sure that didn't get near Marge's glass. She selected a couple of the lighter beers and opened them, taking them back over and sitting beside Marge. All she got was a raised eyebrow, but Rae nodded and pushed the beer closer. "Fine for now."

She turned to Katie. "But Marge is doing so well. It's only been a few days, and it's coming back amazingly quick. Besides, I think she sounds quite... cosmopolitan with the accent, don't you?"

Marge eyed the 'new' girl thoughtfully then held out her hand. "Hello. I do not believe we have met. I am..." She hesitated then sighed softly. "The worst kept secret in Atlantis. Call me Marge when we are here."

She scowled at Laura. "Not one word, Cadman."

Marge 'hmphed' and started sorting out her 'chips', which were several very high-end chocolate bars, some of her private coffee stash (the good stuff; it's not like she could drink it anymore), and the very best and probably most covetted of her 'chips'--three IOUs for Dr. McKay's time: 30 minutes, 1 hour and 2 hours. For anything within reason. But she wasn't going to use those unless she really needed to. Those were the most expensive thing she had, after all.

Rae just smiled and stacked up her chips. Chocolate bars, (not the good ones Carson had paid with), other types of candies, and a couple unread romance novels. When Marge smirked at those, Rae just raised an eyebrow. "What? I don't read them. Who needs bodice rippers when I've got..." Rae trailed off and blushed madly as Cadman grinned. "Oh, just deal."

Katie kissed Laura back sensually, making a real show of it before giggling alongside with Saera. "You know I always knew the 'innocent' act was exactly that. An act. Doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it." She added wickedly after the correct pause.

"Now are we gonna talk about my sex life all evening or are we gonna talk poker - never mind, silly question." She giggled again, running her bare food up Laura's calf. Whilst making it seem like she was focusing on her cards.

Everyone else had matched Saera's original bet and she did the same. She had a reasonable hand but not a great one so she discarding two of her cards and drawing two new ones. The pack in her hand, she looked around the table. "Anyone else need another chance at luck?"

Saera laughed. "If you hadn't known it was an act, I'd have had to be worried about your ethics, debauching a sweet little thing like me," she said. "And why on Earth...or Atlantis, as the case may be...would we want to pay attention to the game when we could be talking about sex?"

Laura smiled stretching her leg out lazily as she pressed kisses into Katie's neck. "She's right." She teased in her ear.

Marge covered her eyes--carefully! She didn't want to smudge her make-up--and shook her head. She leaned close to Rae and muttered. {Remind me why I wanted to do this?}

How could you keep that from me? How? How? How? How? I'd be incredibly mad at you if I wasn't so damned excited. I want details. Minute, inconsequential details. Well, as well as the important ones! God Davey! You grew ZPMs! I think that's worth temporarily losing your hearing over.

I heard!! I heard!!! I heard!! I heard!! I heard!!! I heard!!! I heard!!! I heard!! I heard!!! I heard!!! I heard!! I heard!!! I heard!!I heard!!! I heard!!!

It's strange that I don't know what I'm most excited over! And ofcourse I understand the desire to not leave your bed. In fact I wholeheartedly support it.

Don't worry about Saera, I handed her a *juice* the minute she walked in :D But I'm not promising anything about sharing the most embarrasing secrets. We have to talk about something you know ;)

Love you lots and lots and lots and lots (hey you GREW ZPMs!)
Katie
