[He pleaded when they had first strapped him in; strained, cried for help, cursed at the two-way glass and, upon pinpointing the camera, glared razors. Then slipped into silence when the cloth curtained over his head, not even flinching as the lethal injection was administered. The breathing was visible by then, chest heaving up and down and up and

Watcha doing?

It appears I'm experiencing the REM cycle.
[And he looks over the slight differences perhaps a bit too intently. It's still Misa Amane, though.]

This is a dream. An odd one. And now Amane-san will probably attempt to guilt me.

But then he turns into one of wings, fingers absently stroking his crucifix as he walks and with an upward glance, he catches sight of an L. For about three seconds, Mello figures it must be a current resident, but then the confusion of the other registers and...yeah. Another newbie. Great.]
Hey. [He probably should keep walking, but honestly, despite everything, Mello really isn't that cruel. Besides, it's an L.]

Hello.
[Upon further inspection, the other is mildly familiar from the blond hair halting below his chin to the azure eyes; definitely sharper, more experienced than he remembers but… The burns laced across the right of his face barely veil the fact that this is a matured Mello. He blinks slowly at the realization, recalling the last report he received on the, now, teenager. He heard of the liking for leather (interesting choice), but the burns? And growth spurt- hardly believable.
Forgetting his appearance, the successor even being in Germany is incorrect. If this is Germany… For all he knows, it’s a dream. Sixty percent likelihood. ]
I take it I’m unconscious, Mello.

There's like this-[He swallows, suddenly very conscious of the cold metal pressing against his lower back.]-kinda speech I'm supposed to give you but...
[After this, no more Ls. It's fucking with him already.]
Long story short, you're wide awake. And not where you're supposed to be.

Mello expects me to believe I'm wide awake when he appears so much older.
[The hunched man takes a step forward and scrutinizes his potential's features, looking vaguely curious. It really does look like him... just older. He has been contemplating which would succeed, afterall; perhaps that is where this has come from. But why burned?]
Alright. Given I'm not where I should be, where am I instead?

...
Alright.
[He draws a thumb up, gently pressing his teeth to... before biting in hard- which apparently does little to stir him from this odd dream. He soothes it with his tongue before actually glancing to his double again.]
Evening.

New to a dream? He dismisses the pointless question.]
I take it you are supposed to be me. [It isn't a question. L proceeds to stroll on down the hall, brushing past his likeness calmly.]

Hello there. Would you like a chocolate egg? It's filled with orange flavored creme.

Hello, Amane-san... [He plucks the egg chocolate up and picks at the foil. At least she isn't guilting him over the case, something he had initially thought at noticing her.]

Please, call me Misa. Do you go by L, or something else? Some of other L's go by different names.
::she smiles softly, pleased:: Though, I'm happy you don't seem to be as aprehensive about taking food from me. Some of the others are and it makes me sad, though I know it's understandable why.

Other L's... [His brow furrows as he twists the egg until they open in two halves, revealing the orange creme within.] Amane-san, would you mind explaining your presence in my unconscious?

That won't work here.

... [Mello isn't in Germany, either. Striking similarities, though.Poor service even if the batteries were charged. He nods subtly and throws out his usual social act for such uncomfortable situations.] That is unfortunate. I take it there's a nearby payphone, miss?

Afraid not. Are you called Ryuuzaki, or something else?

Ryuuzaki is acceptable. What might I call you?
