You greedy little bastard, you got what you deserve

[He pleaded when they had first strapped him in; strained, cried for help, cursed at the two-way glass and, upon pinpointing the camera, glared razors. Then slipped into silence when the cloth curtained over his head, not even flinching as the lethal injection was administered. The breathing was visible by then, chest heaving up and down and up and the dark cloth darkened with liquid. L felt a strange sense of satisfaction and remorse simultaneously. It was difficult to view this as a triumph. No doubt, L won when they unanimously found Light Yagami guilty; however, the execution merely seemed like a loss for everyone.

That is how he felt two years ago- when God took his final breath.

Cause of death: cardiac arrest, which was potentially a result of the drugs, though likely more. Whichever, it wasn't an interest of any individuals present. The execution had to be completed in secret, swiftly, having wished to avoid a repeat of the mass rioting at the trial.

L shifts in his sleep, recalling those last few months vividly. And the one conversation he had with Light before his turnover to the authorities. His brows furrow and he is suddenly... on the ground?

He wipes at the sleep crowding his vision, mind stuggling to gather the events before his brain had given in and shut down. A case... The Voldenoggen Case- but. Legs slide out from their curl and he slowly pushes himself up, eyes flitting about to take in every minute detail. Perhaps Quillish had moved him.

But to a foreign hallway? No.]

...

[He slips a hand in to find his cell. Good. Two digits tug it out, flipping it open to speed dial...- and it is apparently dead. He frowns. What sort of trap is this? He isn't even tied. A few checks and, no, he doesn't seem drugged.]
