Matsuda had nothing to do nowadays. He was still in the task force, sure, but lately the only time he was actually needed was if Misa-Misa-chan felt that she wanted company other than the always serious Light-kun, Or if someone needed coffee, but Matsuda was fairly sure that they could manage that by themselves, right?

[And around the corner comes Light, moving his lips silently in time to whatever he's listening to on the ipod. He looks and sounds miserable - or at least as miserable as Lights get. Flipping the headphones out of his ears, he makes a slightly sharp comment.]

Who are you? I don't recognise you.

[matsuda jumped as he saw them, and didnt have a chance to respond correctly before they barked at him. he stares, wide-eyed in confusion]

Uhm...I'm To- I mean- Matsuda...

[he answers quickly, used to having to respond as quickly as he could to light]

Matsuda-san?

[It's a common name, so he doesn't remember the Matsuda his father used to complain about on occasion, back when Light still lived at home. This one seems to recognise him, but isn't giving him the you're-a-mass-murderer look that people here like to treat him to. It's a start.

Light doesn't quite realise he's dealing with a newcomer; he hasn't met one before.]

*Matsuda looked a little flustered as they spoke their second comment.
*eheh* well, thats good i guess..

*L exits into the hall through a door about fifteen feet away from where Matsuda has found himself. He has a book in one hand, thick and old, but no title is apparent.*

Matsuda? Please be quieter; there is no need to be so noisy.

You have just arrived?

*Matsuda whipped around at the second familar voice and blinked confusedly again. L seemed to recognize him*

I-Im sorry. Ok...Yeah, I was just....

*he tried to think of what just happened before he appeared here*
I just got here *he nodded once*

Calm down, please.

*He looks Matsuda up and down, up and down, with bland disinterest.*

Arriving here can be disorienting, but there's no point in carrying on -- nothing to be done for it, now.

Has anyone explained the place to you yet?

No...*he shook his head, but was calmling down, like he was told*
*he rubbed a hand on the back of his head nervously again*

Dude. [A teenage Mello putting on an air of boredom rounds the corner and eyes Matsuda.] What's with the racket?

*Matsuda looked at the third person that he saw so far since entering here*
sorry. I didnt know what was going on...*he rubbed his head embarressedly*

Who are you? [He makes it a demand, because he's irritated that he doesn't know.]

Im Matsuda..*he tries to smile, but ends up not able to* *my, they look irritated for some reason.* you've probably never met me.

"Huh?",Matsuda asked, looking around before his gaze landed on them,"Uhm..yeah" he nodded "Im Matsuda...",he tried to smile once again, but was already flustered enough,"how did you know about that, though..?",he asked, noticing their curious look.

Matsuda shook their head and shrugged their shoulder calmly,"If you want to, either wai it doesn't bother me",he smiled a little, and keeping it through Upsilons' lagh. He then tried to pronounce it. It would be terrible if he got it wrong and they had bothered to even say his name correvtly,"Ya-qub-bin..Yasin",he repeated. He looked around once again. He almost felt quesy, but he blinked a few times and it went away.

"Hewwo."

5 year old L smiles happily.

'I is L...and you are?"

Matsuda blinked in suprise before looking around,"Uhm. Hi." he awkwardly smiled,"I'm Matsuda Touta",he smiled, letting down his guard accidentally. He was to never give out his name, let alone all of it, but here he was, saying it. He slapped his forehead.

He looked down at the kid and tilted his head in confusion. So, this was really L!?! They were so little! and they were actually smiling nicely, in a non-creepy way at all! He looked around the hallway, confused.

"It's nice to meet yous Matsuda."

He extended his arm out so Matsuda could shake his' hand.

"So's in you world did yous meet me?"

He put his' thumb to his' lips, and tilted his head to the side.

"ohwaaa~!",Matsuda made a noise, but then stopped himelf, shaking their hand and then answering their question,"You were older, but you were basically my boss^^",he explained,"we were catching a really big badguy",he smiled. They were like a chibi L!
