I think I made a mistake. I have been working on selling my dad's house and have run into problems with the title. When I went to my siblings to see if they could help cover the legal fees to get it fixed I got some grief from them. I would document your expenses very carefully so your sibs can't accuse you of taking more then your share assuming you are splitting the assets equally or however a will prescribes.
I'm sorry you are having to do it all alone. I have helped my family with a few family estates (grandmother, ex-step grandfather and great grandmother who were living together and died one week apart, and my aunt) and it is a huge overwhelming amount of work, while still grieving for the death of loved ones. It can be cathartic too but overwhelming as all get out even with family help and support.
