Challenge #6 Response: Eric's Song

Feb 27, 2007 23:47

He drank, shot up, and burnt out. All to forget. He always wanted to forget. The desire had overcome him when alive, attributing to his death, but had consumed him as a reaper.

There were few times in his after life that he was sober for longer than a week. It was just too much. The souls he’d taken may have moved on to their ( Read more... )

that is incredibly sweet. I love how Mason's character growth is nil (just like in the series) but they still find comfort in each other

I love and hate that mason never changes. he tries so hard in the first episode of season 2, but then fails. yet they work so well in the show. *sigh*. i love G/M

Albeit the length, this is probably one of the best G/M fics i've read in a while.
Kudos.

ok, your icon is just adorable. I'm desiging costumes for my universtity's production of Alice, and I'm psyched!

And was it too short, or too long? I personally can't stand short fics. I'll read them, but they leave me unhappy. I wrote it short due to time constraints, and i was in the mood to write for about ten minutes. If you think it's too long, I'm really sorry. i feel like I rambled for a bit, but I didn't edit or beta it.

<3 for the comment!

Mason's Past thy3tuth_iswon March 1 2007, 23:26:13 UTC
"...their blood a constant reminder of his violent and turbulent childhood."

your theory of Mason's past is that he had an abusive childhood is a nice touch.
Since we don't anything about Mason, not even his full name, I find it interesting when fanfic writers come up with a past for him.
Sometimes he's a war baby; a rebelious son of rich family, a kid who had an eigth grade education and an ex-wife, or just a bohemian who lived in Seattle with his girlfriend.
I have my own ideas on who Mason was before he became a grim reaper. I try to go the realm of near reality.
And don't worry about the length; while it seems frustrating, all the really G/M fics I have read so far, have been oneshots with the exception of "Dizzy Up the Girl".

I think the only reason I felt he had an abusive childhood is because of the song. "the ghosts in the attic, they never quite leave ( ... )

Thanks. I'm planning to write my series fic, but at the moment, I don't exactly have the time. Plus, I'm something of an perfectionist and stubborn; since my setting is in New Orleans, and I'm from the Midwest. I trying to get in the mind set of the city is like. I'm broke, so I can't go there and I've been there in the past, so I going fo watching the movies and reading the books that have the setting ( ... )
