Yeah I've noticed that too. Thought it's just me and my bad habit of not keeping up with the exterior of my house. There was a nice size one outside my living room window, that disappeared. Now there's one between one of the bushes and my downstairs window.

I was actually just having this discussion with somebody else in a different forum the other day - apparently because this year has been so wet, there are a lot of smaller insects out there for spiders to feed on, so the spiders are thriving as a result.
