The whole hunting-for-temp-work-while-waiting-my-clearance has basically devolved into finding two places to send my resume to but mentioning in my cover letter that 'I am just looking for temp work while waiting for my clearance.' Pretty much destined not to get a reply, but puts me through the hoops required to get unemployment. Not a great way

My excuse is that a good friend of mine DID NOT BOTHER TO TELL ME THAT SHE WOULD BE DRIVING ALL THE WAY FROM NY!!! And that I was forced to go shopping with my lady and the step girl.

Ok. I would have thought that this was common knowledge by now, but fine: Unless I tell you otherwise, I will always be at Croquet. This is one of those things like the sun rising in the East.... Got it?

Next year, the other R **swears** she will go. Evidently, she was about to call me last Monday to tell me she was coming, when her MIL died (she had been very old and very sick for some time) so that was that. But next year, maaaan, next year....
