Former Senator Jesse Helms died today. I dont know what to say, cuz i dont wanna be mean. But he was no peach. I'm not glad he's dead, but i'm glad he isn't able to bash the gay community any longer...

This guy will not be missed....why do we always have to speak well of the dead anyway? I heard about a funeral where the daughter got up and said. "Well Mum wasn't a nice person......" then went on to tell everyone why! Good people die, bad people die, its not the dying that makes them a different person. I work in an occupation which involves frail elderly people, we are able to respect people and let them die with dignity, but for some we really do shed tears...we miss them when they go.

well, very true. and no. he wont be missed. you're right, everyone dies, good and bad. i just didnt want to rant all about the negativity as i was posting, but he was a creep. i didnt even know he was racist too. i thought he just hated gay people. i read somewhere that he called all black people "freds". i've never heard that expression, but its pretty fucked up when you're a senator and act the way he did
