...PASSED MY RECORDING ONE MIDTERM!! Not an A, but 80% and I did very well overall, understand and feel confident going into studio C the second half of the semester. Now I just have the 8 track mix to do for next week (already turned in my three page paper on Nigel Godrich who is my hero) and I'm done and ready (sort of) to head down to Florida ( Read more... )

Congrats on your midterms .... Sounds like quite a journey, metaphorically and otherwise, you are undertaking.

Have you ever read "I Know this Much is True" by Wally Lamb?

take care, enjoy Florida

Trying to remember if I read that one by Wally Lamb, but I read one that I think was by him about having a schizophrenic twin brother who was institutionalized a lot. I've heard it's quite good, needs to go on my list. :)

lol well in that case, there won't be as much wood involved, but I warn you! Pick a wood that a) has meaning to you, b) you find beautiful, and c) is hard wood, not soft (I'll help you pick out the wood if you want, I recommend 50 year old oak. It is a lovely shade, lasts a long time, and takes stains or primes very well, although I personally love the red-tinted colour and would NEVER stain 50 year old oak. Primer will keep the colour AND preserve the wood, if you also like the colour...

But pick any wood you want and start thinking about size... (This may require the use of different tools, but I learned that I can use the wood shop whenever it is open because I already took the class! w00t!)

Your class project is what made me think of that. I love the one you made. I agree with everything you said (of course, and don't go getting that half-smirk 'I told you so' look ;)...

Thinking. :)

*tries very hard to not get "that half-smirk 'I told you so' look"... fails miserably*

*chuckles* Yeah... I like my half-smirk 'I told you so' look... It is a good look for me...

Oh, (and I know this is disgusting, utterly early) but, when I turn twenty-one (sept. 30th THIS YEAR! w00t!) will you take me out? I want somebody to take me out somewhere for my 21st, even if you make a group-party out of it. (and look at it this way, I'm giving you TONS of planning time! *gives cute puppy dog look* please?)
