I'm doing a reading (25 Shevat, 5770)

Next week I'm doing a reading at Perch, which is a restaurant/bar that organizes such things with a City College professor. I'm probably reading from my 10th book, as it's less dialogue-heavy than the published stuff. She said, "Bring a crowd" which was very disappointing, as getting people together is not really my thing.

By the way, the book on Judaism and Hinduism was nonsense involving Gematria, but was also racist, which was disappointing. The one on Judaism and the Mayan calender was not racist but the author wasn't trying to prove that Judaism is better than Mayan idol worship so much as he was using nonsense math to prove that the messiah is coming in the year 2012.

It's a shame about the racist thing. Gematria is neat, but I find numerology in general to be kind of arbitrarily weird.

The second book sounds totally Karmageddon.
