I am totally stuck on the last area in Fallout 2. I even went to an earlier saved game, leveled up, and bought everything the merchants hand. For some reason, they decided to make the final segment of the game 1000 times harder than the rest of it, as I get viciously slaughtered pretty much however I go about the levels. There are actually a couple of ways to go through the last level as I recall. If you have a high enough charisma stat you can actually find the president or a scientist and find a way to initiate the self-destruct sequence. In fact if you have a really high charisma stat you can actually convince a squad of guards to help you out when fighting the last boss.

Yeah, I can't even get that far. I get gunned down on my way to the president. In one try I did get to the president and set off the reactor, but on the way out everyone was trying to kill me WAY before the final boss.

Maybe if I sneak the whole way...

I did it! Took a couple tries because I wanted to keep all 3 NPCs alive and they can be pretty dumb, but I beat the game! And got mostly good endings, from the looks of it. AWESOME! Thanks Paul.
