Bulletin Announcement/Open Franziska Settles RP

Jun 27, 2008 12:09

Franziska, upon being sorted to Toon Town, went there to look around, but found it unacceptably foolish as anticipated. There would certainly be no question of her staying there, but she wasn't finding anything approaching suitable lodgings.

A bit frustrated but not ready to give up, she posted an announcement to the bulletin board.

Beaufort walked up and peered at the notice, surprised by it's tone, but he didn't find it too funny, as he had met women (and men) like this back in Bordeaux; completely unaware that there was a war going on, and expecting high range accomodation anyway. In fact, one of them was his girlfriend at the point. He decided that, given his experience in dealing with such demanding people, and in worse situations than this one, he could perhaps find a way of putting her down calmly.

Instead of writing on the board, he sent her a letter. On French government paper, in case she really wanted to question his non-existant-here authority. Then again, she was German, judging by the name, and she might not respect his non-existant authority.

Franziska felt that this letter was at least reasonable and professional, and Beaufort hadn't seemed like too much of a fool. At any rate, he worked for the government, so he was perhaps worth speaking to. She didn't have any Los Angeles or German prosecutor stationary on her person, but she did have her own personalized stationary, which she sent a prompt reply on.

Mr. Jean Etienne Beaufort ( ... )

Ms. von Karma,

Unfortunately, I have no actual position of power here, nobody does, and it would be quite dangerous, and rather foolish to presume one, as the only power here seems to be an unseen one which keeps the population alive and some how provides food, and little else. However, given that there is no de jure here, and there is not a likelihood of there being one, I suggest that adhering to the current de facto methods might be wise.

I agree that inquiring on the noticeboard is a sensible and peacable way of resolving this situation, but I must stress that the methods by which you have done so would be considered by many to be impolite and far too demanding, even if you do think yourself justified. I also feel it necessary to mention my concern at your intention to 'deal with this in another manner'.

Sincerely,
Jean-Etienne Beaufort.Of course, his worry about her intentions could easily have been caused by the fact she was German, as he didn't even know about the whip yet. But, he was trying to deal with this like a ( ... )

Mr. Jean-Etienne Beaufort,

As even a fool would know, providing food and keeping fools alive is simply not sufficient as a government. Laws are necessary in any situation, so that those who break said laws are able to be prosecuted. A system in which the default assumption is that law is unnecessary is a system I have no respect for and therefore no desire to follow.

Thank you for voicing your concern. However, as you stated, you are not in a position of power here.

Sincerely,

Franziska von Karma

Just one question.

Why would anyone do that?

You're absolutely correct. It seems it was too much to hope for that these foolish people would see reason on their own.

And what is the reason, exactly?

Even a fool could see that a Prosecutor such as myself requires a suitable workspace, and it is inherently unreasonable to waste such spaces on the undeserving.

Attention Franziska von Karma,

I, Anthony J. Crowley, am the resident of the best lodgings in the park. The location of said lodgings is 33 Royal Street in New Orleans Square. However, most unfortunately for you, I'm afraid, I have no plans of vacating the space any time soon.

Most sincerely,
Anthony J. Crowley

Mr. Anthony J. Crowley,

Your time-wasting commentary is not appreciated. If you wish to be helpful, please do so, but otherwise I must ask you to refrain from commenting.

As a prosecutor, it should be obvious that I would be best served by an acceptable work and living space. However, I am more than aware that there will always be fools who are incapable of seeing the obvious.

Sincerely,

Franziska von Karma

If it hadn't been quite clear already, Crowley was dealing with someone whose deck was entirely made up of queens. Therefore a logical argument wouldn't help. The demon decided to amuse himself instead.

Franziska von Karma,

Prosecutor of what?

Anthony J. Crowley,

I am currently a Prosecutor for the City of Los Angeles, specializing in the prosecution of homicide cases. However, I was until recently a prosecutor in Germany.
