Duck Season! (Open RP)

Ash had been here for quite some time, but still hadn't captured any new Pokemon. This was partially due to the fact that all of the Pokemon here were weird ones he'd never seen before, and partially due to the fact that he'd been going on a lot of rides. But this morning all of that was going to change. He was determined to catch one of the lake

Katou had been watching Ash for a while, grinning like an idiot as Ash waded into the water with those reeds for 'protection'.

It wasn't until Ash got ready to throw the Monsterball that Katou yelled out "Hey Ash, what are you up to?!"

Anyone who had studied Ash's Pokeball throwing technique and basic physics could have predicted what happened next. With a splash, Ash landed face first in the water, dropping the Pokeball far away from the nearest ducks (and certainly spooking them) in the process. He floundered for a minute and then quickly grabbed the Pokeball, then stood up dripping wet.

"Heya, Katou! Catchin' Pokemon!" he said cheerfully, utterly oblivious to any ill will behind Katou's actions.

Katou grinned, but hoped it came off more as a 'hey buddy' kind of grin than a 'ahaha, you're such a loser, I'm kind of malicious' grin. And then he realized he was looking at Ash, so it didn't matter if he was laughing manically, Ash would think that it was a 'hey buddy' cackle.

"Really?" asked Katou. "Those look like some pretty tough Pokemon to catch. Are you sure you can do it by yourself?"

"Definitely," Ash replied, although he was actually not all that certain. "Watch and learn."

The ducks had relocated a ways down, so he began creeping towards them again, this time even more covered in mud and completely drenched.
