Nov 05, 2007 13:24

After a bit of scouting, Veronica and Lilly decided to take up residence in the Court Des Angels in New Orleans Square. They found office space upstairs, accessible from a door on the left side of the balcony. A window overlooked the staircase and gave them a decent view of the Court itself and Le Bat En Rouge downstairs ( Read more... )

Ah, home sweet home. Well, sort of. True, it was no Kane Estate but it had the definite bonus of no Celeste.

"So," she said with a huge grin, "how awesome is this?"

"With you here? Pretty damn awesome," Veronica grinned. Not quite as awesome as Lilly having never been killed and them sharing an apartment during college - but you take what you can get. "What shall we do for the decor?"

Lilly sighed. That was going to be a problem. "How much can we do when all of our supplies are from Disneyland?" She laughed and suggested, "Mickey Mouse shaped coffee table with the Goofy and Pluto wallpaper?"

"Options are limited," Veronica agreed. "We could go with a pirate theme?" she suggested. "Or something from Adventureland - maybe some Indiana Jones stuff?"

Pippi came out of a balcony door under a green and white awning on the far side of the courtyard with a mug of coffee.

"Hi!" she called and waved.

"Do I have new neighbors?" Pippi asked brightly.

She never had any that lived so close before!

The appearance of two possibly-underage-but-definitely-not-that-underage hot blonds in the office above Dean's living area was not something he was likely to miss.

After calling out to Sam that he was going to visit the new neighbors upstairs, Dean made his way up to the balcony and waved when the girls came into view. "Hey there, ladies," he said, giving them a friendly smile. "New to the neighborhood?"

It felt a little weird calling this place a "neighborhood," but he figured that was pretty much what it was.

Oh, my. Oh, yes. Lilly was going to like this place just fine.

"Hello, there," she said, stepping up next to Dean and extending a hand. "I'm Lilly."

((Sorry, maybe should have joined these up?))

Dean shook her hand, giving her his most charming smile. "Pleased to meet you, Lilly," he said. "I'm Dean."

And what a charming smile it was. Lilly returned it with one of her own. "It's a pleasure, Dean. You live around here?"

Samuel Winchester had a really terrific hangover. Which was actually good, because it was harder to think when his head hurt.

He’d decided he wasn’t going to get out of his makeshift bed in the backroom all day, except to get water and make the occasional trip down the street to the bathroom. (Damn park and it’s never ceasing sunshine.)

Still, when Dean said ‘new neighbors’ his curiosity was piqued, along with his sense of caution, and eventually he hauled himself out from under the pleasant darkness of his blankets and pulled on his jeans, running a hand through his hair and getting another bottle of water before following the sound of voices upstairs.

He really needed some advil. Except the only place he knew of to get some was the first aid station and that was just a no.

And there was Dean, chatting with some pretty young blond girls. Sam was shocked. Really. He leaned in the doorway.

"Hey," Veronica smiled. She left Dean and Lilly to their chatting and came down the stairs to greet the new guy.

“Hi,” Sam answered. “Uh, normally I think I should be saying welcome to the neighborhood or something, but I’m not sure that applies here. I’m Sam. Guess you’ve met my brother.” He grinned a little.

Veronica smiled. "I'm Veronica. Your brother's Dean, I take it?"

(At some point that evening, the "No Logans" sign would acquire a doodle of a sad face, and the doorstep a Tinkerbelle paper-wrapped quarter-full bottle of moonshine. A note read: There would've been more, but I saw the note and had to drown my sorrows.)

Anyone going past Logan's place of residence the next morning would see a note containing the message,

"The gods are pleased with your offering. Continue in this vein and perhaps the ban shall be lifted."
