Moving Day! Court des Angels in New Orleans Square

Nov 05, 2007 13:24

After a bit of scouting, Veronica and Lilly decided to take up residence in the Court Des Angels in New Orleans Square. They found office space upstairs, accessible from a door on the left side of the balcony. A window overlooked the staircase and gave them a decent view of the Court itself and Le Bat En Rouge downstairs ( Read more... )

The appearance of two possibly-underage-but-definitely-not-that-underage hot blonds in the office above Dean's living area was not something he was likely to miss.

After calling out to Sam that he was going to visit the new neighbors upstairs, Dean made his way up to the balcony and waved when the girls came into view. "Hey there, ladies," he said, giving them a friendly smile. "New to the neighborhood?"

It felt a little weird calling this place a "neighborhood," but he figured that was pretty much what it was.

Oh, my. Oh, yes. Lilly was going to like this place just fine.

"Hello, there," she said, stepping up next to Dean and extending a hand. "I'm Lilly."

((Sorry, maybe should have joined these up?))

Dean shook her hand, giving her his most charming smile. "Pleased to meet you, Lilly," he said. "I'm Dean."

And what a charming smile it was. Lilly returned it with one of her own. "It's a pleasure, Dean. You live around here?"

...It was something of a relief to learn that there were some females in this place whom Dean could properly charm. He strongly suspected that Rae and Cayce would have injured him if he'd tried, and Starbuck was another story entirely.

"Right downstairs," he answered. "So if you ever need anything..." He smiled again.

It helped Dean's case that 1) he was pretty 2) Lilly had not had sex for three years.

Lilly looked over the balcony, leaning perhaps a bit more than was strictly needed. "That's convenient. I always have trouble sleeping in a new place for the first few nights. I may come down and bother you at night."

Not overly subtle, was Lilly. But then, she didn't usually have to be.

Subtle? Subtle was overrated. Definitely.

Unfortunately, sense overcame Dean, albeit belatedly. "Come over any time you want," he said, "but I should probably warn you that my brother and I are sharing the store." Of course, that didn't rule out late-night visits entirely, but being on speaking terms with Sam made Dean's life a hell of a lot easier.

Lilly shrugged, "well, maybe I'll come down and we can take a late night walk around the park."

In fact.

"Is your brother single? Maybe he and Veronica would hit it off."

Dean grinned at that. "Painfully single," he agreed. Unless something had happened in the months he'd missed, but he figured Sam would have said something. "Is Veronica into nice, bookish guys who speak Latin?"

Technically Dean knew some Latin, too, but it was different with Sam. It was defining, at least in Dean's eyes.

Lilly rolled her eyes and smiled. "Something tells me they'll get along just fine."

Dean smiled back. "Then you should both come visit sometime," he said. Sam was going to kill him for this, wasn't he?

Lilly gave another smile. "We will definitely do that, Dean." She put a hand on his arm and leaned in so Veronica couldn't hear, "truth is, she could use a new guy. She can be a bit of a hermit sometimes, you know?"

Apart from the fact that he was making plans to set Sam up with a girl who was probably a good 5 years his junior, and the fact that Sam might not ever forgive him for this, Dean had to say that Veronica sounded like she might not actually be an entirely bad match for Sam.

"A hermit, huh?" he said. "Yeah, Sam can be that way sometimes, too," he said, nodding. "That's my brother--Sam," he added as an afterthought.

Lilly laughed. "Man, they sound perfect for each other. Does he get all wrapped up in his work and forget how to have fun, too?"

Dean snorted. "Yeah, that's definitely him."

He paused, glancing behind him when he heard Sam's voice. "Hey, looks like they found each other already," he commented, smirking only slightly.

"Hi," Veronica smiled. "Guess you could say that. I've been staying in Toontown but I needed more space."
