Duzell had been taking a stroll outside, so he didn't hear Setsuna, but he did, however, receive Setsuna's letter.

Setsuna,

Yes, I'm doing fine. Thanks for the meal. In about another month, if you're willing, you should be able to safely give blood again, so I should be able to hold out until then.

Haven't met too many new people since my arrival. I've been mostly keeping to myself. Did meet a young redheaded girl though. She seemed nice enough.

It's very hot here. I'm not quite used to this heat. As the kyawl comes from teh same place as me, maybe you can get him something nice and cool to drink next time you see him. Maybe one of those iced lemonades?

-Duzell

Then, he turned back into his kitten form, and headed home, where he mewed and played with Setsuna's pant leg.

Duzell,

No problem. Just...a friend of mine kind of figured something was wrong and we talked a bit. He's considering a trade of sorts, if you're up to it. But we'll talk about it when the month comes up.

Well, at least you met someone. ...you almost sound anti-social, but I guess being a vampire you kind of have to be, huh?

You know...I didn't even think some people might not be used to it, because this is close to how it is back home in summer. But I will most certainly do that for the poor kitten. We've named him Little Rascal. Well...Sara named him some Hawaiian name that means that, and I can't remember it.

- SetsunaThe kid was only too relieved when he felt something tugging at his pants. A smile of relief slipping across his lips, he leaned over to pick the kitten up, aiming to snuggle it closely as he murmured, "Why don't we go get you some fruit juice, huh? Some really good cold stuff. I'm sorry I didn't consider it'd be bad for you in this heat with that fur coat. We'll remedy that right away, I just want to find the ( ... )

Duzell read the letter over Setsuna's shoulder, wondering exactly how he was going to reply while Setsuna was snuggling him like this. A trade? What exactly did he mean by 'a trade'?

He mewed and nodded, purring slightly, and wondering if he could sneak off for a few moments while Setsuna went to go find the others. Of course, he doubted that Setsuna would mind if the letter was a little delayed...

Setsuna didn't mind in the slightest -- he had no plans to check his mailbox now that he had the kitten, after all. He pet Duzell/Keone behind the ears, hoping to elicit more purrs with his affection, only stopping to open the fridge in the break room, where Setsuna kept some easy to reach fruit drinks (so he didn't need to wander around at night when he was thirsty).

"There we go! Want some strawberry juice for the moment? I'll get you something like lemonade later. And I'm sure we can find some watermelon around. Melons are very refreshing," Setsuna assured the kitten as he offered out the bottle to see if Duzell seemed interested.

Thankfully, with the kitten around, they now had a bowl set out for milk, and one for water. Setsuna peered into the bowls to see if they were empty or full and asked Duzell, "You don't care if it's watered down a bit, do you? Or should I go wash the milk bowl?" He looked down at the kitten as though expecting him to answer. It was probably best Setsuna and Sara didn't have any real babies.

Setsuna,

Yeah, I got the alcohol. Thanks for the tip. Of course I'm still around, why wouldn't I be? Why, did something happen?

Leon,

...I gave you the tip after all? Wow...I don't remember that. Guess I have been a little out of it.

And...well, 'cause people keep disappearing. I just felt like checking up. That's all.

Setsuna,

Yep. Told me to talk to John and Daniel, and that I did. Wonderful stuff, they've got, by the way.

Have more people disappeared? Who was it this time?

Leon,

Fuck, are you serious? I KNOW I was sober that day. What the Hell.... Well, glad you took my advice, anyhow. It's better than just being pissed at Crowley all the time.

SHIT! You really do have the mind of a detective. Shit.

...I don't know yet?

Crowley hated to disappoint someone's preconceived notions, so in order to piss Setsuna off as much as possible, he crumpled the letter and didn't reply. If the kid wanted him to be a prat, he'd be a prat.

[[Wow, really. He's gonna make the kid cry. XD Or more like, go bug him in person. XD]]

When Setsuna got no reply from Crowley, he waited a couple of days, then sent off another letter.

Hey, Crowley,

You around? If you are, at least reply. Don't go all fucking Katou on me, okay? We're not in dire need of a replacement.

((Sorry he's such a jerk... XDD))

Aw, the kid was worried about him. Oh, well. Let him. The letter went into the waste bin to follow the first and Crowley went to open an excellent bottle of wine.

[[[ *DIES* It's okay. XD He wouldn't be Crowley otherwise. And I'm kind of amused...Katou did this same crap to Setsuna. XD]]

When yet again nothing came, Setsuna just couldn't stop. He refused to believe the stubborn bastard was gone.

Yo, Crowley,

Unless you want me knocking on your door, you could respond. Please? Oh please, to fucking God -- I'm begging God now? Shit! That's desperation -- respond.*

Setsuna,

Ichigo and I are both here, and doing fine. Why do you ask? Has someone else vanished? What's going on?

Yours,

Rukia,

That's good to know. ...and yeah. Some people, just now. I just felt them...disappear. They're not there anymore, and I have no idea who it was. It could have been anyone. Someone we know.

But it's good to hear from you.

Setsuna,

You "felt" them?

What do you mean, you "felt" them?

Rukia,

I mean...that I feel people. I can sense they're there. And if they're close enough, I can tell them apart and everything.

But when everyone is away from me it's just a big ball of people I feel. And I felt a big portion of it vanish. Not even one person at a time, but several just went out. Just like that.

Setsuna,

Doing okay here -- thanks. Had an interesting conversation with Logan Echolls the other day. Let's just say he's arrived at conclusions very similar to those that you and I did, which I guess makes three of us now.

Thanks for the news on Demyx; I'll make sure my list is updated.

Cayce,

Oh, about the coming from fictional places? Actually...Kira was thinking the same thing himself....

Have you heard about the duck theory?

Setsuna,

You mean the theory that the vanishing people are turning into ducks? Yeah, Leon Orcot filled me in the other day.

It seems completely ridiculous, but ridiculous things are so commonplace here that I can't quite manage to disbelieve it.

Cayce,

Yeah...let's see.... Moon and sun, but no stars, when the sun IS a star. Time doesn't progress at -- wait. Leon said something about ducklings, but since time doesn't progress...the ducklings can't really form and hatch and stuff, can they?

This place is giving me the bloody creeps.
