So, when I got my oil changed about a month ago, I took it into my dad's work. He got me his employee discount, got my little car happily changed in the oil and told me she needed some stuff done. I used to be very positive and assuming of the not worst thing, but I've been shat upon entirely too much in recent years, and have therefore become convinced that most of humanity really doesn't give a flying frell about anyone else on this pathetic rock.

Well, but that's different from malevolence. It's not that they want to hurt you, it's just that they don't care.

Which, okay, if you were dating them, that's much worse, but if you're just dealing with a poorly-paid counter jockey, that's, like, what did you expect?

The dude in this job is a union mechanic, which means he's treated well, he's paid well, and yeah. I also know what the car dealerships are like, being the child of two career dealership employees.

So, really, there isn't an excuse, other than trying to make extra money, to tell my dad I need new breaks when I don't.
