Serenity jitters

I have to say, I am totally dreading Serenity.

I am not, generally, a fan of Joss Whedon. I think he's a horribly overrated mid-range talent. Buffy was off-and-on for me, and the fact that it really was better than most shows offered on prime-time network TV when it came on says more about the dire state of prime-time network TV in 1997 than it

One real quick thing though. I was watching the making of "Serenity" on SciFi last night and I have a bit of bad news. I don't think Book will be in much of it and I think he may not be in any Serenity sequels. There was a comment made that Book will not be in much of the movie and he is referred to at one point as a former member of the crew. I'm thinking that he settles down on some planet to preach or whatever from the scenes I saw.

I'm kind of bummed at this, Book was not my favorite character but I really was looking forward to seeing how his character would play out. All the other characters you kind of have an idea where they will end up going (well, I do at least) but Book was really a total mystery to me.

I'm just hoping if Book does become a minor character that we find out what his story is before he leaves the crew. I'm really, really hoping that I'm misreading the clips I saw and Book sticks around.
