I had a dream the other night that I was a much-buzzed about young avant-garde director, making a very controversial remake of Apocalypse Now.

Why so controversial, you might ask? Because I recast the movie with the Muppets, but left everything else unchanged.

I saw Serenity last night. I was wrong. It was really, really good.

I have to say, I am totally dreading Serenity.

I am not, generally, a fan of Joss Whedon. I think he's a horribly overrated mid-range talent. Buffy was off-and-on for me, and the fact that it really was better than most shows offered on prime-time network TV when it came on says more about the dire state of prime-time network TV in 1997 than it ( Read more... )
