The sun was setting when 'Dite got back to the island and the store. She spent a few minutes just glancing around, then found Herc and petted him for a few minutes.

"Hello, hello," a deep voice called as the door swung open.

'Dite poked her head out of the back room in surprise.

"Max? What are you doing here?"

She came out to meet him, wiping her hand on a towel before tossing it into the air where it disappeared.

"Forgot? Me? No!"

Of course she had.

"Um. What was it I didn't forget?"

She didn't think she'd forgotten that they had a date; those were usually the first thing listed in her little black book.

Max had found a nice open space where there was nothing to break during the lesson, and then he'd begun stretching. Always important!

Aphrodite showed up in a pink track suit, with the zipper on her jacket pulled down to show cleavage. Whether or not she had anything on underneath the jacket was completely left up the imagination.

"Okay, I'm here. Do I get to punch you again? What kind of gloves should I get?" She made vague punching motions. "Do I get the big boxy gloves, or the really cool ones without fingers?" She stopped. "Not that boxing gloves have fingers, but oh well."

It took Max a moment to tear his eyes off of the position of 'Dite's zipper and shake his head. Aphrodite would be Aphrodite, he supposed.

"No gloves for you. Not yet. Proper technique first. Looking cool later."

'Dite pouted for a moment, but then shrugged. As long as she could look cool at some point. Besides, the way his gaze hung on her . . . zipper made her smile.

"Okay, no gloves. But I get to punch, right?"

She had no idea why she was so into this idea, but she was.
