1. Next week is our last week of total freedom. BOO! The preschool teachers are back on the 10th (with the kids coming back on the 17th) and the girls start back on the 14th. All the school supplies have been purchased and sorted into backpacks, and we're already thinking of First Day of School outifts

2. Previous sun exposure doesn't always protect you from sunburn, only SPF does that. ;)

3. That totally reminds me of when Scout starts trying to swear in To Kill a Mockingbird. "Pass the damn ham, please." (And yes, it is polarious! I LOVE that she thought it was word melding and not a swear word.)

Ha! My twelve-year-old (son) has lately had the same infatuation with the word "ass." He picked it up on my workout video, where Jillian refers to something "kicking her ass." He's slipped it into conversations so often lately, that today I found myself telling him, "If you can't use that word responsibly, then you're probably too young to be saying it."

I still have no idea what I meant by that.

That sounds like a great guideline to me, navigating the treacherous passage between "no one should ever say that word" and "whatever." :)

Oh good! I mean, it makes sense to me in a visceral sort of way. And I always feel like you're the resident expert on teens (all those library programs where the kids love you,) and I'm never comfortable with them, so you can always chime in with advice for me!
