He was certain he was hearing things, certain that he was going crazy from being stuck indoors with nothing to do but sleep and drink. He wanted to be wrong, but he wasn't. There she was, after ten long years since he'd last been able to see her, she was now here in Luceti.

He felt sick, the sharp pain in his chest hurting. His thoughts were a scattered mess, what could he possibly say to her? What would she think? He knew Luceti could bring back people who had died, but from ten years ago? It was too surreal. Despite his fears, he realized that if he didn't say something now he might miss the chance. For the time being, he'd just talk to her like anyone else would, leaving the familiar face behind. If he could even find the words to say that is.]

... If it was a joke, it'd be the cruelest one I've heard. [He pauses.]

Yeah, I'm surprised. It's hard to explain, but the way Luceti works means it pulls people in from different points in time, as well as worlds. The point I'm from is after Alexei resigns from the position of Commandant, it's ten years in the future for you.
