You know, it's occurred to me that some of my superiors are subject to a case of what I like to think of as selective sight, or, for those incapable of understanding, a little something called negligenceMaybe I shouldn't be saying anything, it isn't exactly my place, but it's not exactly in my nature to overlook a crime that's been committed, ( Read more... )

My my...let's hope your inspiring speech...draws some attention.

I appreciate your kindness. I will...accept your offer, though I'm at a loss. Ah...well..you saw my closet...

I will bring my violin, to be sure...

Yeah... I saw it. We'll figure something out. In the meantime... what you can bring and want to bring you should remove and put someplace safe. As long as it hasn't been touched.

I have more questions to ask you, too... but it can wait. The way I look at it, though, the sooner these questions are answered, the better. It could save you from having to be questioned five-times-over by the rest of the police as they scramble to try and wipe clean this blemish to their reputation.

I will collect my things now. The bathroom was left intact...thankfully. I suppose we should be thankful for that. That is one room I would...rather not see such notices...

In any case...my most valuable possessions are safe....untouched and locked away. I'll leave them...where they are, and collect a small bag of what I can bring.

Once more, Sasuke...you have my thanks...

Whatever.

I'm just doing what should have already been done by those who get paid to do this. Or, rather, get paid not to do it, che...

Are you referring to the post that speaks about a prank? In a college town, pranks happen, and if the person who has been pranked only calls it a prank, and doesn't ask for police involvement, how are we supposed to know it's any more serious than their car getting toilet-papered?

I admire your initiative in pursuing this. I've read the conversations that happened afterwards now, but there was nothing to call my attention to them before.

If there ever is an issue, my door is always open. I don't often peruse the conversations on posts of people I don't know; feel free to bring stuff up. I have also been distracted by a hit-and-run in the city.

Are there other reasons for your frustration? Is there something else going on here? I have an excellent source of homemade cookies, we can talk over them if you would like.

I don't like sweets. So, no thanks.

As for what the victim had to say about the situation, they weren't sure if it was a prank or not. And clearly were disturbed either way.

Even inquiring if everything was all right on their end would have at least shown someone gave a shit.

...It just... bothers me. Cissnei said you guys were focused on the hit-and-run, but she also said it was mysterious, a no lead kind of situation, that you guys were kind of stuck.

So why chase ghosts when this sort of thing could be figured out more quickly? Besides, you don't need the entire force on one damn case!

It really wasn't clear, not from the post.

Sasuke, it really does sound like there's some underlying tension here. Forget the sweets, we can have a homemade dinner instead. Or you can just drop by my office if that's too formal. There are constructive ways to bring these situations up. This really isn't one of them.

We don't need the entire force on one case, this is true. However, I was the superior officer on the scene. It falls to me. And we have some paint scrapes from the front of the motorcycle that tell us a little about the car itself. There's also a small hope that the amnesiac involved will remember something about the accident. I don't give up on cases. I don't just drop them because it gets difficult.

Now, if you bring me up to date on what you've gathered and learned, I can give you a hand here. I can't promise a lot of time, as I do have a full schedule. But I can certainly aid you in looking into this.

I guess it's subject to opinion, really. To me the post indicated uncertainty. They weren't sure if it was a threat or a prank. They said as much. They also described their irritation at the invasion of privacy.

It just seems to me that everyone turned a blind eye because their was a possibility that this was a prank. As if... just because the word was involved it suddenly nullified any seriousness of the situation ( ... )

[OOC: WOW. Do I feel like I dropped the ball with Roy. Eeep.]

You're being a bit harsh, Uchiha.

As Hughes has explained, we do not always keep tabs on what happens in journals. I admit that I myself write them off as not terribly serious.

However, I have to agree with your judgement on this and appreciate your calling it to our attention. It may not be as serious as you feel it is, but you would do right by the victim to do everything you can.

While the hit and run is forefront in our minds, it doesnt mean we don't have time to deal with this. Bring in your evidence and we will help you go through the process to solve this.

[OOC: I have to be honest, my Roy muse is being completely difficult. I should have a better response to this and I dont. I wish I did though. *sigh* But this is so totally Sasuke and I like it very much.]

Perhaps I was being a bit harsh. Then again, if you had seen the state of this person's apartment and aforementioned apartment was down the hall from your own, well, I'm sure you could imagine accurately the level of insecurity I'm presently feeling.

It doesn't help that the victim is equally apprehensive, che.

...Officer Hughes has agreed to help, although if you're willing to also offer assistance than I'd be more than glad to have it. I brought in the evidence this morning. Feel free to go over it with Officer Hughes.

[OOC: I think you're doing a fine job, and I really appreciate the compliment to my Sasuke, so thank you!]
