You know, it's occurred to me that some of my superiors are subject to a case of what I like to think of as selective sight, or, for those incapable of understanding, a little something called negligence.
Maybe I shouldn't be saying anything, it isn't exactly my place, but it's not exactly in my nature to overlook a crime that's been committed, either... especially when the scene of the crime is right next door to where I live. I'm not exactly hero material, and I would probably be considered one of the last people to give a damn about the problems of other people where they appear harmless, but when evidence is produced in mass quantity... when the victim of a break-in posts publicly to a journal over half the SFPD views daily... shouldn't someone aside from a cadet -- namely myself -- step in to investigate?
Needless to say, I'm a little disappointed. I came here thinking the SFPD would hold for me boundless possibilities... but maybe I foolishly got my hopes up. I don't want to jump to conclusions and assume the worst, that's why I didn't say anything right away... but it's now been two days and there's been no attempt to even glance in the victim's direction.
I thought police were supposed to be informed... I could understand one officer missing the distress post, but everyone?!
Tch... unlikely.
I'm bringing in some of the evidence tomorrow morning. I know I shouldn't have removed anything from the scene of the crime, but I wanted to get it in to the police before the culprit had a chance to remove anything incriminating if they returned to the apartment. Not everything was touched, however. So evidence that has not been tampered with is still available if anyone on the rest of the force decides this case is worth their fucking time.

I'm sorry, but I don't think it's a good idea for you to stay in your apartment until this case has been figured out. I know the chance of this being a prank is highly likely, but I'd rather be sure. Better safe than sorry... hn?
If you need a place to stay in the meantime... my door is open, I suppose. It may be the best option given the fact I'm just down the hall from your apartment and we could keep an eye on the place this way. I'd hate to see the person who left those notes get the chance to return and remove them, not that it'd make much of a difference now that I have a few I can bring in to the police station tomorrow.
If you're opposed to the idea, that's fine also. Wherever it is you decide on staying, however, know that anything that has been touched and noted... you're expressly forbidden to remove. It could decrease the chances of the police catching who did this.
I'd appreciate your cooperation, as I am sure the SFPD would, also.
