Fate nodded to Miria, and activated Bardiche's protective programming barriers. Then, the device began to hack into the system, scanning through and copying any data that was relevant.
Alarms all over the building suddenly activated as the computer immediately started locking itself down, and locking Fate out. Miria's eyes grew wide as she heard the alarm. Immediately lunged forward and grabbed the collar of Fate's barrier jacket before wrenching her from the computer console and tossing her clear. Miria then turned to get herself clear, but immediately found herself bouncing of a suddenly materializing force field and landing on her rear.
As Bardiche's blade collided with the forcefield the generator immediately rerouted energy from other sectors of the shield to the sector that was deflecting Fate's attack. With a bright flash of light, the energy barrier repelled the intelligent device and its wielder.
Miria immediately noticed the power reroute, and prepared to try to ram through one of the weakened sectors with her personal shield hopefully before it could be set straight. However, before she could put her plan into action, the sound system came screeching to life. They blared what seemed similar to the sheet metal on concrete sounds of a dial-up modem. It was the same audio computer virus as the one that had been used on her before, but boosted significantly.
The young HSAT let out a loud shriek as she felt her entire body started to feel like it was burning. Miria crumpled to the ground as the virus froze her motor control systems.
The terminal's screen lit up with a counter while a computerized voice announced, "Facility self-destruct in t-minus thirty
( ... )
"MIRIA-SAN!" Fate shrieked, as she was thrown back by the force clashing against them. She had to act. She had to act fast.
And like lightning, she did. Her Barrier Jacket changed in an instant, as did Bardiche and Raidramon. As the newly transformed energy blade slammed into the shield, it was joined by a ramming attack from WaruSeadramon's horn.
Both attacks smashed into the energy field hard, and for a moment it looked like they might break through. However, the lights through out the hideout dimmed suddenly as even more power was rerouted to the forcefield. Even the computer screen flickered for a moment before flicking back... with ten seconds deducted from the countdown. Whoever had designed this trap, had gone to great lengths to ensure whoever was caught would not escape in time.
Miria managed to call up enough strength to crawl around and face Fate. "Captain, please go..."
"No one... is being... left behind!" Fate shouted, as digi-soul joined the attack, which Fate and WaruSeadramon had both not let up upon.
But this time, strategy joined their assault. Lancing forth from the Zanber and from the sea dragon's horn, it coursed through the base, the path of the electricity channeled and directed by Fate's intelligent device.
The target?
The base's power systems, which Fate was fully intent on overloading.
And overload it did. Systems across the building exploded from the sudden cascade of energy. However, the forcefield remained up and the computer continued the countdown. They had switched over to a back up power source. "Blast doors are now closing to contain fires. Leave the area immediately. Self Destruct in T-minus ten... nine... eight...
"Captain Fate, please take Randar and leave before you get sealed in. I have a plan, but I need you three to get to safety first," Miria pleaded while still weak from the virus. Fate had practically less then five seconds to leave the building and get to safe distance.
Fate was interrupted as suddenly, her partner's coils wrapped around her. Grabbing Rendar, the sea serpent exploded out of the roof of the building, just in time for Bardiche to summon a Defenser for the three of them. Both of them had acted independent of Fate's will.
"MIRIA-CHAN!" Fate shrieked, her eyes wide with terror.
"Thank you," Miria whispered as WaruSeadramon took off with Fate and Randar in tow. Now that they were outside and safe, she could being her own plan.
"Three..."
"I owe that RookChessmon one if this really works." The HSAT muttered as she prepared her D-reader.
"Two..."
"REALIZE TAMER: CASTLE WALL!"
"One...Outside the building a distance away, Randar started to feel a surge of energy into him from Miria. A flash of light later and he had been evolved all the way to HS-Cannonbeemon. Needless to say he would be to big for the giant sea dragon to keep carrying and be able to reach a safe distance in time. Randar broke free of the serpent's coils and flew under his own power
( ... )
Fate however thought differently. The fact that Randar had even evolved to begin with was telling that there was a chance... Fate surged out of WaruSeadramon's grasp, and flew down, instantly beginning to search the wreckage for Miria.
Those words heralded Fate's arrival as she dropped out of the air, wearing her barrier jacket and holding Bardiche in weapon form.
"Sorry to keep you waiting."

But there was no time to dwell. She let out a scream and rocketed forward, slamming Bardiche's blade against the forcefield containing Miria.
