Phase 01 - Infiltration [private log]

Indeed, the security was much tighter. Before, DATS had gotten in by simply bypassing the guards and cutting their way in. But now, the security relied less on patrols... indeed, most of the surveillance now involved sensors, controlled from a single mainframe. Before DATS would be able to do what they'd been assigned to do, they'd need to disable that.

But while a large group couldn't infiltrate the base yet... a single individual and his partner could.

Phase 02 - Bring Out the Big Guns [medic/heavy]

At the front of the base, a contingent lead by a Shinduramon was stationed. Well, not just at the front of the base. They were spread across the entire perimeter, and there was a bird in the sky, scanning for any approaching enemies. But then, the jungle could also conceal the advance of an opposing army.

The primary soldiers were Peacockmon... tougher and more durable than the usual soldiers Tetha brought to the table.

Everything was riding on them, that was for sure. If they won, they'd deal a massive blow to Ravemon. If they failed...

No, I refuse to think of that... Guy thought, he and his partner Flamon taking stock of what was going on out there.

"Looks like we're in for a fight, boss..." Flamon whispered.

"It does." Guy whispered back. "But, we can't back down now..." After a final check, he turned away and the two returned to the rest of the fighters. "Alright, listen up. We're in for a fight here. Most of the soldiers guarding the base are Peacockmon, and I'm sure you know what that entails."

"And with most of them being flying types, they do have a bit of advantage." Flamon added.

"But, we can do this. I know we can." Guy said, a smirk on his face. "Everyone ready?"

This was it. This was the moment she'd been waiting for. And, this time, she wouldn't get knocked off the edge of Tetha and sent nearly plummeting into what was below it. That time, she was thankful of Ryuunosuke's help.

Now, she'd try her best by doing it here and giving it her all. At her side was Tailmon and Reiko, with both her skateboard tethered to her back and her dagger clenched into her hands.

Hoshi was awaiting orders to attack when it was okay. For now, she'd hang back and mentally prepare herself. It was just like the Shaman Tournament, almost.

"Ready, sir," she replied to Guy, giving him a confident smile.

Lori breathed, some semblance of calm in her now. Sitting on her bike, she was balanced somewhat unusually - a few straps holding her gun to the handlebars, to fire directly ahead of her with minimal focus needed.

"Our target is to cause as much damage to the perimeter army as possible. My plan is simply to go right in, and use Feedback strikes to cause maximum damage, along with heavy gunfire."

She looked directly towards Guy. "Today... The Mouth of Metal roars. And those in its wake will fear it forever."

"Anyone who wants a ride into the field..."

Touma stood, at the point where he and the rest of the tactical squad members that had been selected were waiting. They'd been given a specific window of time for when they could move in... all there was to do was wait for the signal from the heavy brigade that their "distraction" had begun, and hope that Koushirou had managed to disable the security.

Touma was nervous. He was also afraid. Not of what he was going to face in there... but of what could happen if he failed.

Over these last few years... the Royal Base had become like a home to him.

And he wouldn't let it go without a fight.

Sighing, he turned to Sally. "Are you ready?" he asked his co-captain. "It won't be long."

Sally was looking over some readings, desperately wishing she had Nicole with her right now. A computer that could provide a friendly ear was definitely something she wanted.

But at the moment, she couldn't worry about that. She looked at Tohma, trying to put on a confident smile.

"I'm as ready as I can be," she replied.

Touma nodded, and turned to face the others.

"Like I said... it's almost time," he said. "Everyone, depending on how things go inside, we could be looking at straight infiltration or we could walk into a horde of enemies. But I'm confident you'll give it your all..."

He took a deep breath.

"Is everyone ready?"

Zero was up against a tree, staring out at the perceived point of entry. Ryuudamon was beside him, keeping quiet.

"Absolutely," Zero said. "Didn't get to finish the job last time; damn sure going to make sure it is THIS time."
