Who: Haku, Phasco, [OPEN!]
What: Stupid boys and their stupid hearts make silly girls feel silly pains
When: Night, 28th of February
Where: DATS Neon Garage (the big back garage door is open, so even non-DATS can find her working late in to the night)
Greg gave her a funny look when she asked for the keys to the Denali with tears in her eyes. When he asked, though, she muttered 'check the network' knowing she'd foolishly forgotten to lock most of the conversations and took the keys before he could protest.
Others had talked about how Doumeki and Watanuki's behavior was hurting others, and she knew she was hurting Greg and Eikichi but refusing to allow herself to be comforted, but right then... she decided she was entitled to a little bit of her own selfishness.
The drive over was painfully quiet. She didn't even turn on the radio.
When she got to the garage she pushed up the big back door, staring at the cars her and Dart were still working on. They stared back, just as silent. Sighing, she entered and put her sleeping partner on the counter, and went to stand in front of the nearest car.
But nothing came to her. No desire to start working, to even look under the hood and try to figure out what was left to do.
"Stupid boys..."
So she tried singing something to herself, but her voice just cracked on the high notes, leaving her more frustrated than before. Just as tearful as when she left, she kicked at the tire angrily.
"Stupid boys..."
Fingers flexing in to a fist at her side, she stared at the tire that she'd kicked, eyes narrowing at the tears falling down her cheeks. Again, she kicked, harder this time.
"Stupid boys!"
Letting out a cry, she slammed her foot in to it one last time, but the impact sent pain through her nerves and caused her to yelp and stumble backwards, landing on the ground on her rear. Chest heaving, she blinked a few times before curling up where she landed, wrapping her arms around her knees and letting out a sob. She felt horrible. She couldn't help her friends, she couldn't help her family, and when that family wanted to comfort her in turn she had pushed them again, just as much as Doumeki had. She was being no better.
And the part that hurt the most was knowing she had always been this way. Family or not she always seemed to find some way to make herself alone again.
"Why did I have to care so much..."
