Some distance away from the main crew, Meta Knight was waiting with several other members of the Halberd's crew. Their job was to rush in if the search team called in for back up.

"Stay sharp, all of you," muttered Meta Knight. "Just because we're not rushing into anything right away doesn't mean we should allow ourselves to be caught unawares."

Bakushinmaru stared on as Matadormon and Mazinmon met.

Matadormon was fast. Baku could see THAT much at least. Even if he wasn't the kind of strategist Captain Gundam was, he knew that this guy could dodge most attacks flung at him... but, for the MOMENT...

He was stuck struggling against another Perfect.

Swinging his sword down to point at Matadormon, Bakushinmaru suddenly proclaimed, "NOW! HIT HIM WHILE WE HAVE THE CHANCE!"

In a flash of light, Meta Knight was restored to his living form.

"... That was rather annoying," the knight said, his eyes turning red again. But rather than leap into action, he tried to assess the situation and get his bearings.

"You don't need to tell me twice!" roared RookChessmon, as he turned his Rook Gattling on Matadormon.

As Matadormon caught the axes, Mazinmon landed on the ground, still pushing to gain the upper edge. As he did, both he and Kouji looked and noticed to see RookChessmon turning to attack after hearing Bakushinmaru's call.

"Kouji...!" Mazinmon said.

"I know, I see... and we're gonna let 'em! Let's see how tough we are!" Kouji said.

"...I still like your way of thinking!" Mazinmon shouted as DigiSoul began flaring around Kouji.

"MAZIN POWER! FULL POWER!" Kouji cried out, pushing himself and Mazinmon to hold back Matadormon.

Tailmon flexed her paw as she landed, having missed her target. Though she couldn't hear Bakushinmaru's battle cry, she did note everyone else trying to hit Matador with interest, and decided to join in. Standing on her hindpaws, she signed Neko Kick and leapt up to kick Matadormon from behind.

Meanwhile, Nami had come out from under her shield, and was looking around for her partner.

Oh, there she was, flying at a big pointy thing.

"You idiot!" Nami shrieked, forgetting for a moment that Tailmon couldn't hear her.

Kittan blinked at Meta Knight, "Oh hey, you're okay again!"

Starmon leapt into the fray, arm pulled back to hit Matadormon, "Star Upper!!"

Pikachu also rolled his eyes at Kittan's comment, but siad nothing. Mostly because he was concentrationg on firing a fully-charged blast at Matadormon from his Super Scope., Kuubimon attacking with Demon Tail along side him.

"GO FOR IT!" Bakushinmaru yelled, as fire burned around each of Asuramon's four fists.

"ASURA SHIN...!" the Perfect screamed, thrusting his fists forward. The four fireballs launched off from his hands, converging into one much larger one... which Bakushinmaru chased after, slashing his swords and forming an "X" mark in the sky, channeling his Digi-Soul into it.

"TENKYOU...!"

"KEN!!!"

Baku's Tenkyouken hit and JOINED with his partner's attack, sending a spiraling, x-shaped fireball towards Matadormon...

Matadormon, on the other hand... finally, after a good deal of struggle, managed to break away from Mazinmon and leap back -

- right into Tailmon's kick. The strike landed squarely in his back, and he went falling forward...

...only to be struck by SuperStarmon's uppercut. He went flying, straight into the air...

And right in the path of all the other ranged attacks flying for him.

As Matadormon broke away from Mazinmon, the machine Digimon lept back, allowing Kouji to return the axes to his D-Reader.

"Let's finish this!" Kouji shouted.

"Two steps ahead of you, partner!" Mazinmon shouted, flexing his "muscles" again, the chest plates burning red.

"BURESTO FIYAAAAH!"

"Even better, Kouji! FINAL DAI-GURREN SPECIAL!" With that, Mazinmon's attack, Breast Fire, shot forth from the chest plates, joining the rest of the ranged attacks.

Matadormon's eyes widened, and he held up his arms in a futile attempt to block the incoming attacks.

...when dark shadows rippled around his body, and two more Sangloupmon appeared around him. In the brief moment that followed, he exchanged a glance with one of them. "You... why..."And then the ranged attacks - the Rook Gatling, Falco's blasts, the Destruction Roar, Pikachu and Kyuubimon's attacks, the Asura Shin Ken/Tenkyouken, and lastly Mazinmon's Breast fire - zeroed in ( ... )
