Walking out of the darkness of a group of trees came Yuma, clutching a yellow-colored egg to her chest. She looked somewhat guarded and afraid, and eyed Kat with suspicion.
Kat smiled gently at Yuma as she came out of the trees, and she ended her flight spell. Leormon did the same. Kat could read her body language easily, so she decided that anything she did would be best handled with a slow and steady approach.
"Hi," she said, her tone friendly and calm. "Like I promised, here I am."
She took a couple of steps closer to Yuma, but stopped well short of crowding her. "You look like you've seen better days," she said. "I'm hoping you'll find Tetha to your liking, but we don't need to rush things at all. Is there anything I can do for you?"
Kat nodded in understanding. "That is certainly easy enough. You can stay at my play, or I can rent you a hotel room, if you like?" she offered, then she paused and smiled again. "That's your partner's egg, I take it? Do you need to talk about it? If you aren't comfortable, that's fine."
BioHolyAngemon laughed. Kat's attack struck, but had no effect other than prompting that laugh. He swept back, grinning. "Next time? I'm afraid you've come too far for there to ever BE one," he said. "All I need to do, then, is kill you, search wherever it is you could have come from, or stop Yuma before she reaches Royal Base... You must remember, my resources are not merely myself and my partner!"
His wings beat forward, throwing off several feathers; feathers which quickly picked up velocity, glowing and very much becoming daggers of energy which streaked right towards her. "HOLY FEATHER!"
Youkomon had no chance to avoid that attack at such a close range. The impact sent her flying, into a tree, which pretty much shattered on impact following the resulting explosion of Leomon's attack
( ... )
As she'd expected, she was no match for a bio-hybrid this way. Even if she had been Silverwing rather than Katherine at the moment, she'd still be hard pressed to do anything without her katana. As the feathers streaked towards her, she knew that she was running out of options. She just had one spell left at her disposal, but
( ... )
BioHolyAngemon cackled, preparing to strike her shield with his sword. "Cannot harm you? I'd be more inclined to TEST that, honestly!"
Youkomon's eyes widened. She didn't have the time to attack Leomon and stop his attack from getting off...
BioHolyAngemon barely noticed the Beast King Fist coming for him. He swung back around, throwing his sword out at the oncoming energy wave. It exploded against him, and the sheer IMPACT sent him tumbling backwards in the air...
...but he was able to right himself, and though smoke rose off his body, he laughed. "HONESTLY NOW! Do you think a mere ADULT will have that kind of effect on a Bio Hy-!"
BioHolyAngemon, however, could not have foreseen ANOTHER participant in the battle, as Sayu's GeoGreymon struck, the energy beam ripping from his maw, through the forest, and right face-first into him.
"T' be fair, I in'rposed m'self here," Kat slurred, trying to push herself off the ground. Her hands slipped out from underneath her, and she flopped back to the ground.
Leomon rushed to her side, once again taking all of his attention off of Doumon. "Don't try to move!" he said. "You're hurt!"
"'m fine," she said, sounding as though she was, of all things, drunk. "Be fine in... in a hour. Jus' keep fightin'. Gotta give 'er 's much time 's we can... An' kick this guy'sh butt too."
Leomon frowned and looked up at Bio-HolyAngemon, and he stood up. "If you're hiding something, I'm not going to be happy with you, ma'am," he said.
"Promise..." Kat said, laying her head against the ground and shutting her eyes. "Jus' do good, tha's all we gotta do..."
"Do good, huh?" Leomon asked, and a shroud of data fell over him. The next instant revealed GrapLeomon standing in his place, and he raised his fists in front of him. "That much we can do, partner."
Squaring off against Bio-HolyAngemon, GrapLeomon brushed his thumb against his nose and threw his fist forward. "Beast King's Wave!" he announced, sending a shockwave of energy flying straight at him.
"Honor? HONOR?!" BioHolyAngemon screamed, the madness in his voice now not the least bit hidden. "You preach to me about honor... WHAT DOES HONOR MATTER, TOUMA H. NORSTEIN?! All that truly matters is the RESULTS!"
He surged blindly at MachGaogamon, raising his sword, paying attention to nothing around him...
...and thus being blindsided by GrapLeomon's attack. It knocked him completely off balance, leaving him wide open for MachGaogamon's Winning Knuckle. The attack struck square in his chest, throwing the Bio Hybrid violently into the earth below.
Doumon's eyes widened. "MY LORD!" she cried and flung out her sleeves. "Jugonsatsu - SPELL PROHIBITION PAPER!" Dozens of paper seals suddenly came shooting out from her sleeves, flying at both GrapLeomon and MachGaogamon at a rapid pace. Each, if they landed, would attach themselves to their targets and explode shortly thereafter.
Sayu sat up, wincing. She didn't actually look at Manami, and only barely seemed to register how the battle was going now.
"He's not the same one, but... he would do the same things, if we didn't, if we don't..." she murmured, and looked down at her hurt hand. "It's not strong enough... even still..."
Kat turned her head towards Yuma's voice, and she smiled in spite of the complication this would provide. "You came back," she said gently, smiling. "That was very brave of you. Thank you."
Still laying in GrapLeomon's arms, Kat turned her head towards Touma and gave him a look that begged him to try and keep things contained. She then looked back at Yuma and simply waited. She couldn't control what happened next, all she could do here was pray that the chips would fall in a manner that wouldn't scar anyone any further.
Manami just froze. That girl, who to her represented danger and a gulf between her and Sayu, was standing right in front of them. The last time Manami had ever seen her, she had been Lillithmon, and preparing to take their lives.
She couldn't take it. Shutting her eyes tightly, she spun around and refused to look at Yuma.
Yuma continued to stare at Sayu. Unlike Sayu and Manami? What had been long ago was recent to her. For her, she had been prepared to destroy Sayu's family, her brother, and everyone else just so she could have what represented the last bit of happiness for her...
And for the first time in a long time, Yuma's own emotions scared her. Already, she could feel the conflict between the impulses that being part of Lillithmon brought and her own nature - her conscience.
She had thought she'd thrown that part of her aside when she'd decided to embrace the Demon King. But now, Lillithmon was gone.
But not forgotten.
Turning away before Touma could say anything, Yuma focused on the egg she was carrying. "Miss Kat," she said. "I believe that we should be going now..."
"Right," Kat said, nodding quickly. "Leomon will take us to the lightpost, and we can go from there."
She could tell that the girl was at war with herself, that all of the young women here had things that were bubbling just beneath the surface. The best thing they could do right now was get out of here and let those feelings cool down. She looked past Leomon's arm and gave Touma a look that she hoped conveyed that she'd check in with him later, then she smiled up at GrapLeomon and patted his arm. "Thanks, big guy," she said. "I'm sorry I'm making you carry me."
"Don't worry, ma'am, all in a day's work." he told her as he stepped up beside Yuma. "It's this way."

"If... I can just get a place to sleep, and think... that would be okay. I haven't slept in a long time..."
She looked at the egg now, as if... unsure of what to do with it.
