Sadamitsu had come to Axoryi to pick up some supplies for the Hyperion from a local digimon, having offered to go instead of Lorne, since he was going out to get groceries anyway and figured he could just shop in Axoryi at the same time. He didn't notice Paulo's post, but he did notice the sound of a building collapsing somewhere nearby as he was approaching the lightpost to return home. He took off running, grabbing Kulon off the ground in one hand and slamming Junk on his head with the other. The white Material Guard armor formed in a flash of light and he charged down the street as fast as he could ( ... )

Alice could really only give Sadamitsu a thankful look with her eyes. Her jaw was starting to swell, and she was blinking back tears from the increasing soreness and ache. She'd never been hit hard enough to actually break anything before and frankly, it was agonizing.

"I'll call. Just... get the egg out of there if you can..." Suoh answered, pulling out his D-Comm to make the call.

After doing what little he could for Alice, Sadamitsu re-equipped Junk and went over to the remains of the studio. He lifted off the ground and floated over the rubble, not wanting to risk stepping on the egg. Junk made some educated guesses about where Turuiemon had probably ended up after being thrown, but it still left a large area to search for a small egg. He got lucky, and found it about a third of the way through his search, just as the ambulance turned onto the street in the distance. He landed in front of Kazuma and held it out to him.

"Anything else you need me to look for before I leave?" he asked Suoh.

Edaniel had silently gone to pick Paulo up off the ground, slinging an arm over his shoulders and putting his other arm around the cat's waist. He wasn't even going to bother asking again what had happened. They would figure it out eventually, whenever Paulo was awake again, or one of the others could talk again.

"Hnn?" Suoh grunted, obviously distracted and lost in his thoughts about the situation, even as the ambulance started to pull up. Kazuma had taken his egg from Sadamitsu and was hugging it to his chest, just as shaken as he had been. "Oh. Uh... there's a safe box. It was in the office area, towards the back... we had some belongings in there, too, but... I suppose they're lost now."

"Okay, I'll get it."

Sadamitsu turned and headed back to the studio.

"Give Kulon your number," he called over his shoulder. "I'll send it to you when I find it."

He jumped up onto the rubble and began digging.

Picking up Hyoko again, Saghid stayed at Suoh's side. At least his boyfriend's tamer hadn't been injured. Though he still wished that the damn humans wouldn't go running into fights without their partners. Didn't they know how nerve racking it was for a digimon to find out their tamer had been injured and they'd done nothing to help?

Suoh nodded and did just that before going to join Kazuma, Alice and Saghid near the light post. Paulo was being loaded in to the ambulance with Edaniel hovering near by, obviously worried and upset but unable to do anything about it.

He sighed and ran a hand through his hair, looking both his boss and his coworker over with a scowl. Kazuma was unhurt but clearly not okay, and Alice was going to need treatment anyway.

"You should probably go to the hospital, too. Both of you," he said. Kazuma didn't answer, but Alice nodded and started guiding him towards the ambulance. Once they were gone, Suoh turned to Saghid.

"Thank you for helping..."

"Quatre would have been upset if you'd been injured...and Hyoko is still..." He looked down at the fluffy bird digimon and licked the top of its head where dust had started to collect.

Hyoko fluffed his feathers up, though it was hard to tell if he was annoyed or just responding to what Saghid was doing. Suoh smiled tiredly, kneeling down to take his partner in his hands.

"I'm sorry, Hyoko. I'm alright, though."

Hyoko didn't answer, as it seemed his current form didn't allow him to speak easily, rendering him even more quiet than he usually was. He fixed Suoh with a bit of a glare, but it softened after only a second. At least Suoh was capable of taking care of himself most of the time.

"We should probably get home then. Quatre is likely to be worried."

"...yes probably. He was working so I didn't mention we were leaving." Saghid said, realizing that it was very likely that Quatre would be worried about them, since they'd disappeared.

Suoh lifted an eyebrow at that.

"You left without telling him?"

Well that certainly explained why Quatre wasn't there.

"He shouldn't be getting in the middle of unneeded fights. Working for DATs puts him in plenty of danger already."

"Well it wasn't exactly like I predicted this was going to happen, Saghid. We still don't know why Paulo suddenly went crazy the way he did..."

"You can always walk away from a situation you aren't prepared for."

Suoh fixed Saghid with a glare.

"I do not abandon my friends, no matter what is happening. If you had any sense of honor you wouldn't either," he snapped, turning and activating his D-Comm to go through the lightpost.

"You humans also have no sense of self preservation! If you die here, you don't go back home! You're dead! There's no magic reset button, or anything like that! Rushing into a situation where you are in over your head does no one any good, honor or no. What good is helping your 'friends' if you end up dying because you couldn't handle something and because you didn't let your digimon help you!? We're made to be able to fight things beyond human means, why the hell won't some of you let us do our jobs and protect you!?"

Saghid watched Suoh, waiting for an answer. He had a feeling the tamer wouldn't agree with him, but what did he care? What did he really care about any of these tamers!? They all just left in the end and never thought twice about it afterward. Digimon were just data, they didn't really matter, did they?
