A question for you all....
So, my jewelry business in my etsy shop has REALLY dropped off.... a LOT. I'm starting to wonder if maybe putting up a proper website is in order. I would keep my etsy shop for a while to see if the traffic picks up but I'm hoping that a regular website might be easier and cheaper to maintain than using etsy. Any thoughts on that? First: how much does Etsy cost and have you researched how much a separate Web site would cost you? It might not be cheaper.
Second: What do you want from a Web site? This is on two levels. Do you want something you can use for ecommerce or just a gallery and have them contact you? This could impact the cost of your website hosting, as well as dictate what skills you need from someone who builds websites. Also, do you want something that you can easily learn to update on your own?
Third: Have you considered changing your approach to marketing, before completely switching to a new site/service?
