Day 2: 3417 words

I sort of cheated today, having characters think about the backstory as I worked it out. I despise that sort of internal reflection as exposition, but I had to figure some of this stuff out before I could make scenes with these people. I had to so that last year and I had to grit my teeth to get through it's as it such a big no-no for good writing. But it’s all about quantity not quality in November, right?

Meanwhile... Good gosh it was loud tonight! Surprisingly so for such a small place. I’m amazed I managed to get my minimum wordcount done in spite of it (and without any word wars). Anyway I really must stop procrastinating and finish this scene before bed. I have two characters trapped in an elevator with a Monopoly board...
