Being nice doesn't solve anything.
Being ignored is the most frustrating feeling ever.

AGREED.

I am dealing with a similar situation...but with building maintenance. So far, in a year, this has happened:

- Major water damage from a storm that was never cleaned up or repaired
- Ceiling of bedroom leaking water for 3 days straight until someone came in to fix it
- Peeling, cracking floor and walls. Nobody has been in to repair it; they ignored our calls.
- Heat not coming on in bedroom. Again, NO1CURR
- Plumbing problem which somehow fixed itself on its own

And now, the bathtub has filled up completely for some reason, and there's a clog in the drain. The super came in and told us that the maintenance person won't be in until 4. What is this fuckery. I hate missing work because people are fucking lazy D:

Are you renting? Can you withold your rent till they get everything fixed?

Those are such horrible things to have to deal with. I hope building maintenance finally pull thier fingers out of their butts!

My building maintenance just washed their hands off everything, which made me even more rabid.

Yes, introduce them to the dog. And a lawyer. And possibly a brick in a sock.

Maddie, I can't find a big enough brick :(

I could do with a jumbo-sized espresso when you are finally de-lurgified.

I'm mostly better, but I'm at Claire's until Thursday. She's in Miami.

I would send a final e-mail to the owner saying you are about to get a surveyor in, and that the cost of this will be added to whatever it costs to get it sorted out. And did you speak to your insurance company?

What in the world is going on? Why do these people want extensive and expensive damage?

I am going to echo medusa_nw regarding the final e-mail.

If the landlord doesn't respond or nothing is done it's time to bring out the big guns and get a lawyer. I know you'll feel better for kicking some ass, bb.
