Summary: New Year thread for all Tokyo residents
An annual event held in the town square to welcome the new year. Not one street in Tokyo had not been filled with stands, ranging from food to toys and games, and even tourists stopped by to have fun and catch all the action. It was the biggest event of the year, and the entire town seemed to participate. The sea of people greeted the new year with pure and cleansed souls. Music played on every corner but it could not compete with the loud chatterings of the excited attendees.
To some this was a family reunion, it could also be a chance to have fun with friends or it could be a romantic morning with that special someone. Even though the festive atmosphere of this event could leave one vulnerable but rest assured the proximity to military and policing units might fend off the worst of the criminal element. The festival was very safe (no major accidents to date!), but be on your guard, and be on your best behavior. The nearest temple was ready to accept your pray.
