My Last Day of Sanity

Jul 16, 2007 13:42

Yesterday was quite likely the last truly sane day I'd have in a long time. It was a fun day, as well as a sad day. I'm moving at the end of this week, from California to Florida. I'll miss the friends I made out here, and yesterday was one of those days to say goodbye to a lot of them.

So let's start the day from the beginning. I wake up to see my lovely wife, and realize, regardless of how sad I might be at the thought of seeing some of my friends for the last time, at least I'll always have her for the rest of my life.

Peek-a-boo! I'm gonna need a shave soon.

We woke up a bit early to get some chores done. Off we go!

I put up a picture in my last DITL of a painted poster. You can find out more about the story here, but, here is the next poster. Sorry for the fuzzy picture... the light was green and Cathy couldn't stop for the shot. ;)

Some flowers as we wait for a red light to turn green.

A GPS in Los Angeles is a godsend.

I was just following the law. I sure am glad I had my camera when I passed this sign!

Yes. Lots of car shots. You know why? LA traffic is horrible, and I had a lot of time to kill. Here's me in the rear-view mirror.

One of the many reasons for bad traffic in LA.

We grab an early lunch.

Sophia taking a lazy day.

Our last D&D game is played today. We wait for our friends to ring the intercom so we can buzz them in by phone.

We're starting the game earlier than we normally would. We have plans for the evening.

Important decisions are made right in our very home. Ones that will save lives!

Some people order mexican for lunch. Don't be fooled by the Coke logo, there's actually horchata inside. It's what every growing boy needs!

A battle of epic proportions!

We say goodbye to our friends, and Cathy and I get dressed up for a double date tonight. Here's Oz trying to sneak a drink from her glass.

Josh is telling a scary story while we're in an Italian restaurant, La Piazza.

Mmm, yes. More wine, please!

An empty glass. Sniff.

Josh and his girlfriend say their goodbyes, while Cathy and I go window shopping.

We're catching a movie before we call the day over.

We settle on a time. I loved this movie! It might actually be one of my favorite Pixar movies, ever.

It's been a long day, and we're creeping into Monday morning. It's time to head home.

We park our car and head up the elevator (fun fact: the empty spaces at the end of the garage belong to Benicio del Toro -- he owns a penthouse in this building).

She's still my pretty princess.

I'm out like a light with my faithful corgi beside me. Goodnight everyone! Starting tomorrow, things will get really hectic.
