Who: Everyone. Every single character in
dissideo so far.
When: Midnight, Friday morning.
Where: The Archylte Steppe. (Details below.)
What: For the first time, the forces of Cosmos and Chaos come together on the battlefield. AKA: Round 1, ding!
Type: Either log or action-tag.
Notes/Warnings: There will be fighting. And probably swearing, too. Who knows. Also, everything not specified here is probably covered
over here.
SETTING
The main expanse of the battlefield is nearly identical to the
Archylte Steppe of Final Fantasy XIII fame. (For reference, a simple map is
here.) There are a few distinct changes, though.
The simplest change: None of the resident beasts are there. No behemoths, no adamantoises or large gui. Not even little foes, like cactuars. It's completely barren, save for the warriors of Chaos and Cosmos.
The edges of the Steppe don't lift to plateaus, nor do paths lead to other areas (Mah'habara, as an example from the map). Instead, everything outside of what's specified on the map just... drops. Basically into nowhere. It's a cliff the whole way around, but when you look over the edge, you can't see the bottom through the shadows, even in the brightest of day. Don't try to push anyone off, though--there're barriers along the edges, like invisible walls to prevent such a thing. Apparently, someone thought that would be too easy.
The final difference is a slightly bigger one: On each end of the battlefield is a base,
Chaos to the west and
Cosmos to the east. And the closer you are to one of the bases, the more good or sinister the area feels. The Cosmos sky is a brilliant blue, while the Chaos sky is heavily clouded. (As such, it's warmer near the Cosmos base and quite chilly the closer you get to Chaos.) In general, greens and blues are brighter on Cosmos's side, while reds and greys dominate the side of Chaos. The differences aren't exactly drastic, but they're noticeable if your character for any reason stops to rest a minute.
ARRIVAL
No matter where your character is or what the are doing, exactly ten minutes after the announcement by Chaos and Cosmos there's a flash, and they find themself standing on the battlefield, weapon at hand. And no matter who they were with, they're scattered randomly across about a three or four mile radius, halfway between their base and the centerline. A voice speaks in their head: "Find the crystal--bring cease to this bloodshed." / "Seize the crystal, and we will receive our just reward!" They can see allies to their left and right, but they defintely aren't close enough to converse. Will they converge? Will they charge in and fight? The enemy's in sight, just barely in eye's view across the horizon.
FORMAT
For the sake of trying to avoid messing up the space-time continuum, try to start new threads as often as possible. I know that's not what you usually hear from mods, but like...
You post at the start of the fight and fight Person A. You want to fight someone else. Post a new thread set after your fight with Person A. Make sense?
In the subject line of any new thread you start, be sure to say "open" or "reserved for [name]", to avoid confusion. It would be absolutely beautiful of you to also include a note on about the timepoint in the battle it's set, especially for open ones. That way things don't overlap TOO much. (It can be as simple as 'very beginning', 'early in', 'middle', 'right at the end', etc.) The timepoint isn't absolutely necessary, though.
Remember! As soon as you figure out the winner, leave an OOC note either in the subject line or somewhere in the post to help the mods keep tally. That doesn't mean your battle has to be over, of course. You can decide the winner OOCly long before the thread's done.
Now, go have some fun!
Hey guys, great job posting. But it seems like everyone's making threads instead of replying to them, so if you can work it, try replying to a few.
