"YAH!" She just barely missed being impaled. Needless to say, Xion learned fast not to step on the shaded patches in this area. Someone had thought it was a good idea to have spikes erupt out of the ground that was disturbed in the shade. She had considered turning around, but there was absolutely no guarantee that it would get better if she tried another route.
She poked the shaded dirt with her key blade and the spikes shot up again on cue. This time she was fast and swung her key blade in a wide arc - only to have it shimmer out of her hand and reappear the second the spikes had receded. Apparently you couldn't just destroy them. She frowned, looking frustrated.
