LOL OH, CHRIS. YOU SUCH A PEACEMAKER. zerosuitjill September 25 2010, 03:00:46 UTC
Jill blinked, taken aback, and almost asked "What?" when she thought she'd misheard--but no, she knew she hadn't. Not even the dim echo in the room could have distorted words that much. She hesitated, not hiding her uncertainty, but she knew more than most the necessity of pushing smaller matters aside for the sake of survival, and that was a close enough comparison here. Jill was indeed alone, and if this girl had come running over, there was no way of knowing who else had become interested in the noise, Mannequin or otherwise ( ... )

Jill caught it easily with a smile and examined the strange currency (OH, YOU OPPORTUNIST, YOU ♥). She'd seen them before and had put half an effort into collecting the "victory money," as it were, only out of the knowledge that the gods seemed to have an affinity for anything shiny. One never knew. Of course, she had nowhere to keep it in this damn suit, and she'd just been lucky that her crystal fit conveniently into her holster--or had she? It was hard to tell if anything was a coincidence here.--but the dresser back in her quarters served well enough.

Normally, she would have rejected that notion and insisted that they'd both taken the Mannequin down, but Jill had seen that disinterest in Tifa's expression, and it seemed a moot point to reject the offer. "Heh. It was an equal effort. But I'm not sure whether to hope or dread that these things have a use in the future." Because in the Arklay Mansion alone... nothing was ever there for the hell of it. Every damn thing had a use and to get through the place, you had to find each and ( ... )

And in true Godly fashion, the Mannequin had actually dropped a coin for each (let it never be said that they weren't fair in their monetary distribution). As if the recognition of their team effort had always been consciously there as they worked to bring down the crystal copy of an actual person. Because in all of her other endeavours, when she had been fighting them alone, they had only dropped one in their defeat ( ... )

"Sure enough." Jill shrugged with one shoulder as she looked back in the direction of the portal she'd come through to get here. "I figure that's enough action for one day; if you're headed my way, we could watch each other's back a little longer," she proposed. Some of the paths traveled through neutral territory far enough for them to travel together a bit more, just in case, before splitting to their respective factions.

I concur! lightning_fists January 26 2011, 03:43:23 UTC
Whatever plans the Gods had in store for them, Tifa was surely certain that they would be revealed in due time. It was only a matter of waiting it out. Until then, they would simply have to continue on as they have, fighting Mannequins and each other until this supposed war ended and there was a victor. In theory.

Sighing softly, she looked to the other and gave a gentle smile. "Sounds like a plan."

There was no direction, really, that she intended to go. For the moment, Tifa was simply passing time and building up her skill levels until the next battle. "Safety in numbers, right?"

"Always," Jill agreed, having developed a preference for the partner system herself years ago. Keeping her senses sharp and her weapon at the ready, she started back towards the portal that would take them out into another area.

LET'S WRAP THIS UP, SHALL WE? :D lightning_fists February 3 2011, 15:39:54 UTC
With the fall of Midgar, they had developed into a close knit community of sorts back home. So it was a principle that Tifa lived and survived by. All the same, she knew what it was like to fight alone. And as far as opinions and preferences went, the young woman preferred facing the world as a team.

"No matter what may come," she murmured softly to herself.

And as the transport crystal began to glow at their approach, Tifa could only feel confident that could manage to pull each other through any difficulties or challenges that laid ahead for them.
