[He shows it off a little, then returns to looking at the crystal. He's trying to hide his feelings of dread.]

Perhaps the dragon found a means to escape...

...Maybe. He was... a companion.

No direct memories, but... a feeling. Something happened to me here.

[Which would be true, were there a dragon at all to be located. Kain can't imagine one of the gods would just let him go if they needed the power on their side. More dread.]

Yet he doesn't appear to be here any longer.

[The armor is familiar, in some vague way. He can't place why, but it prompts him to respond, at least. For the most part, he'd been ignoring the crystal and the strangers that talked through it.]

I have seen no such creature. Why do you search for a dragon?

[Strange... there's a feeling of familiarity even though the memory itself is just not there. Kain stares a moment, then remembers to answer.]

That dragon is one of the few memories I have. He was... a comrade.

A comrade? [That strikes him as strange. The only ones he could conceive of having a dragon as a partner would be someone like a warrior of Chaos, and yet even then, they would be the master of it, not the friend. And although he would be quick to distrust anyone else he thought was part of Chaos's forces, he almost finds himself trusting this man.]

If you have not yet found him, then it is likely that he is not here. Still, I will keep watch.

[Kain can't help but have a weird feeling too. He tries to dismiss it, the same he tried when Laguna sparked the same sort of odd familiarity.]

Perhaps. [Kain sounds and feels doubtful, a dragon is hard to miss.] No matter what the case, I want to know what's become of him now... if he's left this place somehow.
